Why did I jump like this? 👇🔥

Potsdam hit 40.4 °C this summer, the hottest day ever measured in the city. 🌡️

So at Climathon Potsdam 2026 at XU Exponential University of Applied Sciences, we asked our students one question:

Where should Babelsberg cool down first? 🌳💧

Six hours later, the teams pitched real ideas:

🗺️ Heat priority maps
📱 An app that shows the nearest water, shade and cool room in one tap
🎤 Every team on stage, every pitch scored live by the jury

And when the results came in … swipe to the last slide ➡️😄

Thank you to all teams, our jury and everyone who made this day happen. Congratulations to the winners! 🏆

6 hours later: pitch time. ⏱️

At Climathon Potsdam 2026, teams pitched their ideas to keep Babelsberg cool: water, shade and cool rooms for the people who need them most.

The jury voted live, on their phones.

Congratulations to every team that pitched! 🎉

Now comes the real test: next summer. 🌱

👇 Which idea would you want on your street?

40.4 °C. Potsdam’s hottest day ever measured was this summer. 🌡️

So we spent 6 hours on one question: how do we protect the people of Babelsberg from heat?

That was the challenge at Climathon Potsdam 2026, Cool Kiez Babelsberg. Three rules for the day:

1️⃣ Start small, start now.
2️⃣ Planting is not enough. Every idea needs a gardener.
3️⃣ Design with the people who need it most.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now. 🌱

👇 What’s one thing that would make your street cooler next summer?

Climathon is powered by Climate KIC. Hosted at XU Exponential University, Potsdam.

Steam engines replaced our muscle. Computers replaced mental math. And now, generative AI is moving in on language and first drafts.

During our XU Immersion Week, guest speaker Manuel Sanchez from DKB Code Factory challenged our students with a single question: „When machines do the heavy cognitive lifting — what’s left in your mental gym?“

Sitting in an open circle with President Stefan | Visual Framing, student Em , and moderator Violeta , the answer became clear:

🧠 Staring at a blank page without panic.
🎯 Owning hard decisions when data conflicts.
🔍 Asking the questions an algorithm wouldn’t even think to consider.
Tech will keep scaling. Personal judgment is what you have to train on purpose.

👇 Drop your answer: What is the ONE mental muscle you refuse to outsource to AI?

Brief the CEO before he faces the press. ⏱️🎙️

Week one at XU Exponential University doesn’t start with 90 slides of passive listening. It starts in the hot seat.

During our Boardroom Challenge, students were given 55 minutes to analyze live corporate crises, apply TOWS strategies, leverage LLM research, and pitch their crisis briefing directly to leadership.

🔹 Real constraints.
🔹 Real executive sparring.
🔹 Applied strategy from minute one.

👇 Under pressure: Are you trusting your gut or the data?

We gave a robot 10€ and sent it grocery shopping in .mueller 🤖🛒

It split the budget ✅
Rejected Snickers ❌
Instantly approved sour Hitschies 👀
Got hired on the spot 🧢
…then its knees overheated 🥵

Hands-on AI, real supermarket, zero script. This is how we learn at XU Exponential University.

👇 What should the robot shop for next?

„So, how was your first day at university?“

“Pretty average. A professor in a Karate Gi was doing high-kicks next to a humanoid robot.” 🥋🤖

Welcome to a new semester at XU Exponential University.

When we say “Taking education beyond tomorrow”, we don’t mean outdated 90-minute lectures from the last decade. We mean:
⚡ Turning theory directly into code and live prototypes.
⚡ Testing computer vision, robotics, and AI on real-world cases.
⚡ Professors and mentors who are genuinely passionate about what they do – and aren’t afraid to break the mold.

We are kicking off an exciting new chapter: fresh energy, new leadership, and an uncompromising mission to equip you with the tech and business skills that actually matter for the future.

Higher education should be hands-on, inspiring, and completely unlike anything you’ve seen before.

👇 Drop a 🥋 in the comments if this is how every lecture should look!

What if “the future” was part of your curriculum?

At XU Exponential University, it’s about curiosity, ideas, and learning together — in small classes, close to real projects, and focused on what’s next.

Applications open for April 2026. 💫

25/02/2026

During the ceremony, our graduates shared their advice for current students — reminders to stay curious, take chances, trust the process, and make the most of every moment at XU.

From those who’ve just crossed the stage to those still on their journey: this one’s for you. 🎓✨
