Join our international summer school PALYANYCIA in Eastern Poland on civic activism in times of war
16th-25th of August 2022, Dzikie Wino, Daliowa, Poland.
We invite activists from Germany, Poland and other EU countries as well as activists from Ukraine who fled to EU countries and Ukrainians who stayed in the country, to join our summer school. We expect participants to be between 18-30 years old.
The summer school takes place in one of the most beautiful and interesting rural regions of Poland, the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, that had many Ukrainian / Lemko villages until the late 1940, when these minorities were deported by the communist authorities to other parts of Poland and to Ukraine.
We will learn about the local history of Ukrainians and about Polish pro-Ukraine initiatives that were established in February/March 2022. We will meet local artists and activists who preserve the local heritage and who are engaged in artistic and civil society projects of significance going far beyond the local context.
The place we stay at, Dziekie Wino, will provide an opportunity to take a break and find some new energy for the work as activists and volunteers. The school will provide us time and space to address the feelings we have in this difficult situation. And to do so we’ll use various creative tools: music, paintings, poems, filmmaking.
Our common language will be English and we will also use Ukrainian, Polish and German to enrich our language skills.
Costs: Project participation, accommodation and food are free of charge. A reimbursement for travelling costs up to 200 Euro per person will be provided additionally. The project is implemented by DRA e.V. (Berlin) in cooperation with NGO from Ukraine TinU with financial support of Auswärtiges Amt.
Application deadline is 24 of July 2022. Please follow this link to apply: https://bit.ly/3O7a32e
