The digital humanities project AniVision of the Research Center for Animation and Emerging Media was awarded the Best Paper Award for its submission to the VISART Workshop. The workshop took place during this year's European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV) in Milan and is dedicated to bringing together computer scientists with artists and humanities scholars.
The paper “Analysis of Hybrid Compositions in Animation Film with Weakly Supervised Learning” by Erwin Feyersinger, Claudius Stemmler and their colleagues is available on arXiv and will be published by Springer as part of the proceedings of the ECCV.

Heute feiern wir im Tübinger Rathaus und im Stadtmuseum Lotte Reinigers 125. Geburtstagsjubiläum. Gestern haben Evamarie Blattner (Stadtmuseum) und ich im Arthaus Kino am Bollwerk in Stuttgart unseren Dokumentarfilm "Lotte Reiniger - Tanz der Schatten" (R: Susanne Marschall, Kurt Schneider und Rada Bieberstein, ARTE 2012) vorgeführt und im Anschluß über die große Pionierin des Silhouettentrickfilms gesprochen. Heute um 14.00 Uhr geht es im Rathaus weiter mit der Übergabe einer Lotte Reiniger-Briefmarke, einem Roundtable, dem Erzählcafé im Stadtmuseum und zum Abschluss meinem Vortrag "Mit zaubernden Händen geboren ...Lotte Reiniger zum 125. Geburtstag." Happy Birthday, Lotte Reiniger!

Susanne Marschall hält heute um 18 Uhr im Stadtmuseum Tübingen den Vortrag "Mit zaubernden Händen geboren" zum 125. Geburtstag von Lotte Reiniger.

Am 13.6. ehren zwei Veranstaltungen den 125. Geburtstag von Lotte Reiniger. Ab 15.30 Uhr: Erzählcafé. Bei Kaffee und Gebäck kann man mit Kenner_innen und Freund_innen Reinigers ins Gespräch kommen. Außerdem gibt es Kurzführungen durch die Dauerausstellung, die einen Querschnitt des Werkes der Künstlerin zeigt.
Um 18 Uhr: Vortrag von Professorin Susanne Marschall „Mit zaubernden Händen geboren… Lotte Reiniger zum 125. Geburtstag“. Die Medienwissenschaftlerin ist Kennerin des Werkes von Reiniger und verantwortet den Dokumentarfilm „Tanz der Schatten“, der die Aktualität von Reinigers Filmkunst zeigt. Herzliche Einladung!

On 13 June, two events will honour the 125th birthday of Lotte Reiniger. From 3.30 pm: Storytelling Café. Over coffee and biscuits, you can talk to experts and friends of Reiniger. There will also be short guided tours through the permanent exhibition, which shows a cross-section of the artist's work.
At 6 pm: Lecture by Professor Susanne Marschall "Born With Magical Hands... Lotte Reiniger on Her 125th Birthday". The media scholar is an expert on Reiniger's work and is responsible for the documentary film "Dance of Shadows", which shows the topicality of Reiniger's film art. You are cordially invited!
