ITeM is the biomedical research institute of HFU and the team members do a lot of interesting research work in in surgical domain.

Our team member Nour Jalal and other co-authors in their recent published work demonstrate a deep learning approach for analyzing laparoscopic videos for surgical phase recognition, tool classification, and weakly-supervised tool localization. Their work demonstrated the ability of the model to learn discriminative features for all tasks.

02.03.-03.03.2020:

ITeM nimmt mit 8 Beiträgen am 14. Automed Symposium in Lübeck, Deutschland teil. ITeM Mitglieder sowie 4 Studenten präsentieren die aktuellen Forschungsergebnisse aus den laufenden Forschungsprojekten.

ITeM participates in the "14th Automed Symposium" in Lübeck, Germany with eight contributions. ITeM team members as well as four of their students will present current research findings of the Institute's projects.

ITeM war an der diesjährigen LED Professional Symposium & Expo (LpS 2019) als Austeller vertreten. Die LpS 2019 ist die führende Europäische Konferenz und Ausstellung für Design und Entwicklung von Beleuchtungssystemen in der Lichtindustrie.

ITeM was represented as exhibitor at the LED Professional Symposium & Expo (LpS 2019). LpS 2019 is Europe’s leading international lighting technologies conference and exhibition for design and production of lighting systems.

ITeM congratulates the winners of the student competition of the DGBMT 2019. HFU master student Bala Amala Kannan was ranked 9th.

ITeM nimmt an der "Dreiländertagung D-A-CH, BMT 2019" (gemeinsame Jahrestagung der Deutschen, Österreichischen und Schweizer Gesellschaft für Biomedizinische Technik) in Frankfurt/Main teil, um aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse zu präsentieren.

ITeM will participate in the "Dreiländertagung D-A-CH, BMT 2019" (joint Annual Conference of the German Society for Biomedical Engineering in VDE and the Austrian and Swiss Societies for Biomedical Engineering) in Frankfurt/Main and present current research findings of each project area.

Professor Dr. Knut Möller und sein Team haben durch den Aufbau des BIKEM (Binational Institute of Knowledge Engineering in Medicine), welches vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Reference code: 01DR17024) subventioniert wird, eine Plattform für internationale Zusammenarbeit geschaffen. Diese Zusammenarbeit wurde in jüngster Zeit weiter ausgebaut.
Im Rahmen von BIKEM wurde im Frühjahr ein Ethikantrag an der Partneruniversität UC (University of Canterbury/Christchurch/Neuseeland) gestellt. Nach dem positiven Bescheid konnten jetzt im Juni 2019 erste Messungen zur Evaluierung eines „Smart-Shirts“ zur Atemzuganalyse in Neuseeland durchgeführt werden.

Professor Möller and his team established BIKEM (Binational Institute of Knowledge Engineering in Medicine), a platform for international cooperation funded by the BMBF. Recently, the collaboration was further extended, since a corporate ethic proposal got approved at the partner university UC (University of Canterbury/Christchurch/New Zealand) and first experiments for breath analysis with a ‘Smart Shirt’ have been carried out in New Zealand.
