Community Learning for Local Change

Social Entrepreneurship for Local Change is a programme offered by a 5-University Consortium in cooperation with relevant NGOs. The goal is to empower future social entrepreneurs through an interdisciplinary, problem-based learning environment that enhances the innovative competencies needed for addressing social, cultural and environmental challenges in Europe. The programme is funded by the ERAS

MUS* Programme in the period 2015 - 2018. Social Entrepreneurship for Local Change includes twelve live sessions on the internet available to the wider global community, as well as interdisciplinary and international group work with students from Romania, Estonia, the Netherlands, and other European countries. The online course is open to anybody interested in the subject. The objective of this strategic partnership is to develop a study module on social entrepreneurship with a scope of up to 15 ECTS. The format of delivery will be flexible (both online and blended learning modes) in order to address different target groups. In terms of content, the project will adapt and complement existing learning resources, both national and European, and provide new materials derived from the partners’ local contexts. In addition, experiences made during development and pilot implementation will feed into a guidance report for teaching staff. The project is addressed to an interdisciplinary target group of educators, students and young professionals in the fields of economics, business administration, geography, agriculture, regional development, urban/landscape planning.

A. Local communities: Identifying challenges and goals
B. Designing pathways to the goals
C. Designing the change model

Online lectures will take place from 15.03. – 14.06.2022, with two weekly sessions. Lectures are held on Tuesdays from 17:30 – 19:00 pm.

Our final document summarizes the main findings of the ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership ‘Community Learning for Local Change (CLLC)’.

With this report, we want to build and exchange knowledge about how to address local sustainability challenges between different European regions. All of them share some similarities while their local context is very specific.

Our collaboration links rural Estonia to the Carpathian Mountains, the metropolitan area of Bucharest to the urban regions of Arnhem and Stuttgart in a shared and mutually reinforcing learning process that is still going on.
