In TalTech’s Law programme, she has gained a comparative view of European legal systems, developed practical legal skills and become more confident about her future in the legal field.

FROM SPAIN 🇪🇸 TO TALTECH 🇪🇪 Most students expect lectures when they start university. Marc Dolcet Sadurni started with laboratory research 👀

After moving from Spain to study sustainable energetics at TalTech Inseneriteaduskond (School of Engineering), he joined a research group already in his first semester. Today, he is continuing at TalTech as a PhD student, researching advanced semiconductor materials that could be used in future solar cells and optoelectronic devices.

Alongside science and research, Tallinn also became home to an active international student life through ESN TalTech IC and ESN Estonia, where Marc helped organise activities and represent exchange students 🤝🏼

💬 “Moving to Tallinn has opened many doors for me. I am very happy with my decision,” he says.

From FINLAND 🇫🇮 to TALTECH 🇪🇪 Why is Tallinn becoming one of the most exciting places for maritime innovation in Europe? 🌊 ⚓

According to TalTech Eesti Mereakadeemia (TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy) lecturer Ulla Pirita Tapaninen, the answer lies in the combination of digitalisation, sustainability and a maritime sector that is willing to test new ideas quickly 💡

From smart shipping and maritime digitalisation to green technologies and cybersecurity, Tallinn is becoming a place where the future of maritime is not just discussed, but actively built.

TalTech’s close connection to the industry gives students the chance to work on real-world challenges while studying in one of Europe’s most digitally advanced countries.

For students interested in shipping, sustainability and technology, Tallinn is becoming much more than a study destination.

From ITALY 🇮🇹 to TALTECH 🇪🇪 “Have you ever regretted your choices?” “No! Not for a second,” says Matteo.

What started as a decision to study abroad eventually turned into a whole new chapter of life in Estonia 👀 📈

When Matteo moved from Italy to study Integrated Engineering at TalTech Inseneriteaduskond (School on Engineering), he did not expect Tallinn to become the place where he would build both his professional career and everyday life. Today, Estonia is a country he considers home 🫶🏼

For him, TalTech stood out because of its practical approach, strong connection to industry and international environment. His story is a reminder that sometimes studying abroad becomes much more than just a degree.

From ABROAD 🇸🇪 🇬🇧 to TALTECH 🇪🇪 “Being Estonian is an honour.” Jaan Erik grew up between Sweden, the UK and Estonia, but says he always felt a strong connection to his Estonian roots.

After returning to Estonia, completing military service and starting his studies at TalTech majandusteaduskond (School of Business and Governance), he realised something that surprised him most about Estonia: how many opportunities there are in such a small country.

💬 “The ‘small country effect’ is quite magical,” he says. In his view, Estonia’s size makes networks exceptionally accessible. “How many phone calls or messages would it take to reach almost anyone in Estonia — maybe even the president — through someone who knows someone?” he asks. “I would say fewer than five people.” This closeness helps ideas and initiatives move forward quickly.

Today, Jaan Erik is building an international career while staying closely connected to Estonia through entrepreneurship, innovation and international cooperation.

His story is a reminder that sometimes coming home is not about looking back, but about building something new for the future 🌟 Read more in the article below 👇🏼
