A project funded by the Svenska institutet is exploring regenerative blue food tourism in the Baltic Sea region. 🌊
Led by 🇸🇪 Leader Gute (Sweden), the project brings together partners from 🇪🇪Estonia - of Tartu TÜ Eesti Mereinstituut , 🇱🇹 Lithuania - prekybos, pramonės ir amatų rūmai and 🇩🇰 Denmark -GASTROPHYSICS, to rethink how we travel, eat, and interact with coastal communities.
💡The idea?
Tourism can give back more than it takes. Visitors don’t just consume—they actively contribute to local ecosystems and communities. Through sustainable seafood (fish, shellfish, algae) and collaborations between local producers, restaurants, and communities, hands-on experiences can help support Baltic Sea environments - while showing that can be delicious and available all year round. 😋
🎯The project aims to explore and discover new flavors of Baltic Sea blue food, and to promote them as a way to support coastal tourism.
From 2025 to 2027, project partners hope to deliver real solutions and inspire a new way of eating local blue food that is not only sustainable but also regenerative!
