Big congratulations to Tatiana Lupacheva, who successfully defended her doctoral dissertation and earned her PhD in Political Science 🎓

Tatiana’s work offers a fascinating and timely contribution to understanding democratic accountability in a mediated political environment, tracing how parliamentary speech connects to media visibility, public attention, and ultimately electoral outcomes.

A special congratulations to her supervisor, Associate Professor Martin Mölder, on guiding this important research journey.

Next doctoral defence at the institute! 🎓

📅 On Monday, 11 May at 14:30, Tatiana Lupacheva will defend her dissertation: „Voice, visibility, and viability: connecting parliamentary speech, media coverage, and electoral performance of MPs in Estonia”

The defence is open to everyone interested and will take place in the Senate Hall at the University of Tartu (Ülikooli 18-204).

The dissertation is supervised by Associate Professor Martin Mölder (University of Tartu).

ActiPlex partners met in Groningen 🇳🇱, bringing together teams from Tartu, Groningen, Warsaw, and Berlin to wrap up the project and share results.

With 1,500+ learners engaged through the MOOC “Growing Apart: What Is Polarisation and What Can We Do About It?” and the “Paper-Clip Game of Opinions,” ActiPlex showed how interactive tools can make complex topics like polarisation accessible and engaging 🌍

Meet our newest doctor: Dr. Romanov!

Last week, on April 23, Bogdan Romanov defended his dissertation, which examines how citizens form and maintain trust in Internet voting. 🌐
