Dr. Sara Elsingaby and Alexandria University’s French Department Named Founding Members of Francophone Educational Innovations Network
Dr. Sara Elsingaby and the Department of French Language at the Faculty of Education - Alexandria University were named as a founding member of the University Network for Educational Innovations and Studies, and Research (RUFIFESE) launched by the Agence Universitaire de la francophonie (AUF).
This is a culmination and recognition of the role and contributions of the French Language Department over the decades since its establishment at the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University.
Dr. Sara Elsingaby Rashed is an Assistant Professor and Head of the French Language Department at the Faculty of Education, University of Alexandria. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy and History of Modern Thought Systems from the University of Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne, France.
She directed her postdoctoral research to the field of developing critical thinking in children through what is known as philosophical practices, in cooperation with the Chair of Philosophy for Children for Dialogue of Cultures at UNESCO in Paris.
Under this framework, she contributed to the organization of several workshops to enhance the critical skills of the students and then directed her research and vision to include visually impaired learners, in cooperation with the Junior Library and the Children's Library of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Hanns Seidel Foundation to take these research to a more human dimension and equal access to knowledge and thought.
The research was consecutively presented at the World Philosophy Day organized by UNESCO in November in Paris, France and published in two issues of the International Journal of Philosophical Studies known as Diotime.
Dr. Sara Elsingaby Rached attributes the accomplishments of her academic journey to her work at the Faculty of Education since she was appointed as a teaching assistant in the French Language Department at the Faculty until she graduated to different jobs and degrees, where education is an end, means and way not only to obtain knowledge, but also to build the thought and personality of a normal citizen from a young age.
