American scientist: Zewail University can contribute to the establishment of local and international industries During his visit to Egypt, The American scientist "Munir Nayfeh" stated that the newly established «Zewail University», is a project of the utmost importance for Egypt and for the whole Arab world. He noted that this university can put Egypt on the map of technologically advanced countries, and said: This project does not lack masterminds, nor scientists, inventors nor developers, because the Egyptians have appropriate scientific and practical experiences, and they have a long tradition in research, development and inventions. Nayfeh reported: it is encouraging to note that Egypt after the" 25 January Revolution " developed national policies to help advances in scientific, technical and industrial fields. So if generous support is provided to supply the university with facilities similar to that in advanced industrial countries, as well as to increase its ability to attract world well-known scientists, technicians and managers, it will definitely outperform. He continued: In my opinion "Zewail University" can produce important inventions and techniques, and can establish local and international industries which will provide abundant income, approximating it to the financial sustainment and independence, which are prerequisites for its permanence.

Egyptian inventor "Zaki Abdulatif" dazzles the world at Ku exhibition in Korea

Zaki invented a tool to measure the indentations of various surfaces.
This instrument is composed of stainless steal sheet (840 mm x 90 mm x 7 mm) -a strong metal that does not rust nor affected by weather factors-, with a ruler graded in centimeters on the front side of the instrument, to measure the longitudinal and transverse dimensions of indentations. With another ruler graded in inches on the back of the instrument, to measure the dimensions of pipes. Also characterized by the presence of three indicators graded in centimeters, to measure the internal and external indentations for different surfaces, thus helping to measure the differences in thickness, and can measure corrosion of metal surfaces, as well as measuring the degrees of inclination.
This instrument also has Vertical and Horizontal water balances to measure the inclination gradient of surfaces in centimeters.

For this invention Zaki got the following prizes:
1- The Diamond shield for the best invention in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2- In Korea he got a scientific diploma and "bowl innovations".
3- Certificate of Excellence for inventions in Macedonia.
4- Scientific degree from four international organizations for protection of intellectual property rights, and received "thanking and admiration letter" from the President Office of Patents in India, with an invitation to visit India soon with 25 International personality.
5- A gold medal and a scientific diploma from Russia.
6- A silver medal from Kuwait.
7- Awarded in 2012 by Dr. Mohamed Morsy as the ideal laborer of Egypt.
8- Certificate of Appreciation from the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate.

The conferences which Zaki attended:
1- Fifth International Conference of inventors in Kuwait.
2- First International Conference for Arab inventors in the Arab League.
3- First International Conference for the development of Suez Canal.
4- International Conference for inventors 2013 in Korea.

c'est une instrument de mesurer des augmentation des surfaces différentes , et le corps d'instrument composé de un slice de fer ( acier inoxydable ) dont les tailles de(840mm x 90mm x 7mm) celui ce un metal fort ni rouille ni affecté par les factures climatique

cette instrument se caractérise par une règle répertorié en centimètres sur la face avant d'instrument pour mesurer les dimensions longitudinale et transversale de surface qui a les augmentaion

Egypt is the first Arab country to launch a locally-manufactured satellite built with nanotechnology.

Egypt will soon launch the first 100 percent Egyptian-built nano-satellite, becoming the first Arab country to realize such an achievement.

According to the Saudi newspaper 'Al Watan', the national scientific research minister of Egypt, Dr. Nadia Zakhari, announced that the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences is currently taking the necessary steps to launch the first nano-satellite of 100 percent Egyptian construction

Zakhari said the satellite will weigh no more than a kilogram and a half, and will be funded by the European Union

She confirmed that studies are currently underway to search for the best proposal from satellite launch stations in India and Kazakhstan. She said that this satellite will be characterized by high-capacity imaging, which will allow improved study by remote-sensing experts and those working in the urban and agricultural sectors

Zakhari said that the nano-satellite is characterized by high-capacity imaging, between 60 and 80 meters, and will last from 6 months to a year. It has panels to collect solar power, which it converts into electric power to support the satellite's work for the entire time that it rotates around the earth.

She added that those participating in this project included 13 researchers from the Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, 8 researchers from the engineering college of Cairo University and from Egyptian electronics companies .

An owner of plastic making factory invents a self-destroying syringe after single use
________

after the spread of chronic infectious diseases , which on top of it hepatitis C virus infection, as a result of using the medical syringes for many times, as well as the spread of refilling the used syringes and reusing them
and that after making deals between hospitals and factories of plastic syringes manufacturing

Sameer Mahmoud-aged 40- an owner of plastic-syringe manufacturing factory , and who holds a Technical Industrial certificate, had invented a medical syringe that destroy itself after one single use to avoid injectable -caused infections

Sameer got patented for his invention in 2008, and says ," the idea came into my mind after I had an offer from a corrupt hospital to store the used syringes and the factory cleans them and re-pack them to be sold to the public, apart from the dangers result from this deal !"

and says that this invention will decrease the spread of virus C disease

the syringe looks -To a large extent- like the ordinary syringe with three amendments , which are:

1- adding a cone shaped plastic part that would be connected to the upper ring of the syringe cylinder, and that connection is such weak that it can be detached and moved up when the syringe injected to the patient body for the first time

2-adding a lip like part on the needle-fixing side of the syringe, and this lip has a fixing like ability that helps the fixation of the needle to the syringe that can not be detached

3- the needle cap would have two openings : the first is detachable and easy to connect
and the other on the back of the needle , for protection of the user while installing needle over the syringe body

And Sameer confirmed that the production costs of this invented syringe are less than that of the ordinary one.

As well as it is safe as it ca not be re used as it will injure the user in case of any trial of reusing it...

Neuro-protective effect of Mentha extract against oxidative stress in pre-treated gamma irradiated Swiss albino mice

Abstract
The damaging effect of ionizing radiation on body systems on one hand, and the development of radioprotective agents on the other hand, have gained increased attention in the last decades. In the present study, male Swiss albino mice exposed to six gray gamma irradiation, exhibited significant increase in brain thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), nitric oxide (NO), and free radicals such as
hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Significant decrease in the levels of reduced glutathione (GSH), glutathione-S-transferase (GST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) contents, acetylcholinestrase (AchE), and the neurotransmitters dopamine (DA), serotonin (5-
HT), and acetylcholine (Ach), was also documented. In addition, the levels of serum electrolytes sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), zinc (Zn), magnesium (Mg), and cupper (Cu) decreased significantly, while the levels of potassium (K), and iron (Fe) increased significantly. Additionally, some Lewy body aggregations
were detected. On the other hand, pretreatment of gamma irradiated mice with Mentha piperita extract (1g /1Kg body weight /day) significantly abolished radiation induced elevations of TBARS, NO, H2O2, K and Fe levels, as well as significantly ameliorated the GSH, GST, SOD, AchE, DNA, RNA, Na, Ca, Zn, Mn,
Cu and the mentioned-above neurotransmitters levels. In conclusion, Mentha extract may provide a significant level of protection against radiation-induced oxidative stress. It might have improved the antioxidant defense

Chairman Of The National Center for Research Announces The First Egyptian Vaccine For Bird Flu To Hit The Market.

Today, Dr. Ashraf Shaalan, head of the National Research Center, announced production of the first one hundred percent Egyptian vaccine for bird flu, which will be put on the market within the week under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and a private company.

Shaalan said, in an exclusive statement to the Middle East News Agency on Monday, that the scientists of the center succeeded in preparing this vaccine, and will evaluate it after production to ensure compliance with the industrial and scientific product specifications set forth for its preparation.

The announcement came during his attendance of the ceremony held in the center’s conference room on the occasion of the signing of eight Innovation contracts between the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and Masr al Khayr Foundation. Under the terms of the contracts, the patents of the eight innovators’ inventions will be converted to semi-industrial models.
