As part of our continuous commitment to academic excellence, scientific research, and international collaboration, the Faculty of Dentistry, Badr University in Cairo (BUC), held an online research protocol presentation and scientific discussion for our postgraduate Master’s program in Prosthodontics.

We are pleased to highlight the research protocol presented by Dr. Maram Mohamed Elwakil, focusing on the fracture strength of 3D-printed ceramic-reinforced resin crowns fabricated using dental and non-dental 3D printing systems.

The proposed research explores an important area of contemporary digital dentistry, investigating the influence of different printing technologies and post-curing protocols on the mechanical performance of definitive dental restorations.

The scientific discussion was conducted under the supervision of:

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange, constructive discussion, and refinement of the proposed research methodology, reflecting the importance of international academic collaboration in postgraduate education.

As part of its commitment to delivering high-quality, clinically oriented postgraduate education, the Faculty of Dentistry, Badr University in Cairo (BUC), hosted a specialized scientific and educational event for postgraduate students in Prosthodontics and Periodontology.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for our postgraduate students to expand their knowledge, exchange clinical perspectives, and benefit from international expertise, with particular emphasis on the interdisciplinary approach to contemporary implant dentistry and comprehensive patient care.

We were pleased to welcome Mr. Michael U. Knackmuss, Senior Instructor in International Education, who shared his extensive international experience in implant dentistry and implant-supported prosthodontics with our postgraduate students.

The Faculty extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Ibrahim Yehia, Acting Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, for his dedicated efforts in organizing and coordinating this valuable educational event.

Faculty of Dentistry – Badr University in Cairo Participates in the Special Olympics Regional Games

The Faculty of Dentistry, Badr University in Cairo (BUC) is participating in the 10th Special Olympics Regional Games – Cairo 2026, held from 17–23 September 2026, with delegations representing 14 countries from the Middle East and North Africa. كليه طب اسنان جامعه بدر.pdf

As part of the Healthy Athletes Program, the Faculty has delegated a selected team of dentists and teaching assistants from the Department of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine and Radiology and the Department of Prosthodontics to contribute to the dental screening and healthcare services provided to participating athletes. كليه طب اسنان جامعه بدر.pdf

The Faculty’s participation is conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Wagih, Head of the Department of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine and Radiology.

This participation reflects BUC Faculty of Dentistry’s commitment to community service, social responsibility, and supporting the health and inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities, while contributing to this important regional event hosted by Egypt.

🌐 International Collaboration in Postgraduate Research

As part of the Master’s Program in Prosthodontics at the School of Oral and Dental Medicine, Badr University in Cairo (BUC), a scientific meeting was held to discuss the Master’s research protocol of Omar Fenoon.

The meeting brought together Prof. Dr. Tamer A. Hamza, Dr. Mai Elgohary, and our distinguished international collaborator Prof. Yurnder ucar, Professor, Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry, College of Dentistry, The Ohio State University, USA. 📢 International Co-Supervision Program – Postgraduate Research

As a continuation of the international co-supervision program at the Faculty of Dentistry, Badr University in Cairo, a scientific meeting was held today to discuss the Master’s research protocol of Mariam Mohamed Refat, from the second batch of the MSc Program in Prosthodontics.

The research entitled:

“Digital vs Conventional Centric Relation Recording: A Comparative Evaluation of 3D Mandibular Position and Reproducibility”

was discussed with Dr. Kavita Shor, Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Restorative Dentistry, University of Washington, USA, together with the BUC supervisory team, Prof. Dr. Tamer A. Hamza and Dr. Ayman Zidan.

The session included valuable scientific discussion and constructive feedback aimed at strengthening the research protocol and methodology.

We sincerely appreciate Dr. Kavita Shor for her valuable time, expertise, and continued contribution to our postgraduate research program.

Exchange at BUC Dentistry | DSSA 2025/2026

The Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine – Badr University in Cairo (BUC) is proud to highlight the international student exchange activities organized by the Dental Students Scientific Association (DSSA) during the academic year 2025/2026.

As part of its commitment to promoting international academic and cultural exchange, DSSA welcomed two international dental students:

🇷🇴 Vlada Radu – 4th-year dental student, UMF Carol Davila, Romania
🇸🇩 Shahd Abdelhadi – 4th-year dental student, University of Khartoum, Sudan

🦷 Academic Experience

During their visit, the students participated in a variety of educational activities and hands-on workshops at BUC Dentistry, covering several areas of contemporary dental practice, including:

• Esthetic and Composite Restorations
• Endodontics
• Dental Implantology
• Prosthodontics
• Other multidisciplinary dental activities

The program provided an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange, clinical learning, and interaction with BUC students and faculty members, while allowing our international guests to experience the academic environment at BUC Dentistry.

🏛️ Discovering Egypt

Beyond the academic experience, DSSA organized a cultural and social program introducing our guests to Egypt’s remarkable history and cultural diversity, including visits to:

• The Pyramids of Giza
• Salah El-Din Citadel
• The Religious Complex of Old Cairo

These activities transformed the exchange into a truly comprehensive experience—combining education, friendship, cultural discovery, and international communication.
