Scholars at Risk has supported Dr, Adam Duker from the beginning. Now they raise the case of another scholar at AUC -- Waleed K. Salem, who is being prevented by Egyptian authorities from leaving the country.

AUC needs to do more to protect their scholars. From Giulio Regeni's murder, to Dr, Adam being seized at the synagogue last year, to Waleed being detained in Egypt against his will, AUC has shown time and time again that they cannot (or will not) protect professors.

What is the point of having a US ambassador as president of AUC if he can't protect faculty from Egyptian authorities?

Scholars at Risk has issued a letter urging Egyptian officials to allow Waleed K. Salem to freely work and travel inside and outside of Egypt.

Egypt has an Anti-Semitism problem. Prof, Adam was working with AUC students and religious leaders to help solve this problem. He lost his position b/c the Anti-Semite Tarek Taher and AUC administration didn't like it.
