Exciting International Research Collaboration!

The School of Biotechnology at Nile University is proud to highlight an ongoing international collaboration supported by the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Collaborative Research Grant (2024–2026). This project focuses on advancing our understanding of autism spectrum disorder by investigating the relationship between sodium channel mutations and connexin channels involved in cell-to-cell communication.

As part of this collaboration with Mercer University, Columbus, USA:

🔬 Dr. Raghada Ramadan, Assistant Professor at the School of Biotechnology, Nile University, visited Mercer University laboratories and received hands-on training in behavioral testing using autism mouse models and other advanced experimental techniques.
🎓 Dr. Raghada Ramadan delivered lectures to department and medical school students during the visit.
🤝 Dr. Ahmed El Tokhy from Mercer University visited the laboratories at Nile University for sample exchange and conducted a specialized workshop for students.
💻 A virtual laboratory tour from Mercer University was organized by Dr. Raghada Ramadan for more than 120 Nile University students to enhance their exposure to international research environments.

This project represents a strong collaboration between IBRO and the School of Biotechnology at Nile University, fostering scientific exchange and advancing neuroscience research.
