💊 Do you know about PrEP?

PrEP is a method to help prevent HIV in people who do not have the virus but may be at risk. When taken correctly, PrEP can reduce the risk of acquiring HIV by more than 90% through sexual contact. It's an effective tool that complements other prevention strategies such as regular testing and condom use.

📍In many European countries, PrEP is available through public health systems with medical follow-up. Knowing your options helps you make informed decisions about your sexual health, or advice others that could benefit from these strategies.

Despite the historic legal shifts in 2025, the LGBTIQ+ community in Lithuania continues to face a "health barrier" 🏥🏳️‍🌈

According to the latest reports, while the courts are opening doors for family recognition, the healthcare system is lagging behind. From the lack of gender-affirming care protocols to the absence of protection for intersex infants, the right to health is still not a reality for everyone.

True equality means being able to visit a doctor without fear of judgment and having access to care that recognizes who you are 🇱🇹✨

🌍✨ Reflecting on our 4th Erasmus+ meeting in Lisbon! 🇵🇹🏳️‍🌈

We recently wrapped up two incredible days (Feb 19-20) in the beautiful city of Lisbon, continuing our mission to promote LGBTIQ+ equality and diversity within university curricula. 📚🎓

During this 4th transnational meeting, our partner universities came together to:
✅Share ideas on inclusive educational strategies.
✅Deepen our knowledge on LGBTIQ+ healthcare needs and disparities, and Portugal's specific challenges on the matter.
✅Strengthen our commitment to making higher education a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

At Charles University in Prague 🇨🇿, we embarked on an inspiring journey of cultural and professional exchange. This conference focused on physical therapy practices for the LGBTQ+ community, fostering understanding, inclusivity, and sensitivity in healthcare. 🌈

We took part in hands-on-training, practical exercises and discussions that deepened our awareness of communication skills, care needs, and legal rights for LGBTQ+ individuals. Beyond the classroom, we explored Prague's vibrant cultural heritage and rich LGBTQ+ history, connecting learning with empathy. 💬✨

We return home inspired and grateful for the bonds created ready to keep building a more inclusive future - next stop: Lisbon! 🌍💪

🇲🇹 Malta: a benchmark for LGTBIQ+ rights in Europe 🌈

Malta has been a pioneer in legal protection and equality for the LGTBIQ+ community:
✅Marriage equality and adoption rights since 2017.
✅Legal gender self-determination without medical requirements.
✅Advanced legislation on gender equality and intersexuality.
✅Ban on conversion therapy since 2016.
✅Anti-discrimination laws since 2004.

However, there is still a key area for improvement: strengthening healthcare providers' training to ensure inclusive and high-quality care across the health system. 🩺💬

🇲🇹 Malta: un referente en derechos LGTBIQ+ en Europa 🌈

Malta ha sido pionera en la protección legal y la igualdad de la comunidad LGTBIQ+:
✅Matrimonio igualitario y derecho a adopción desde 2017.
✅Autodeterminación legal de género sin requisitos médicos.
✅Legislación avanzada sobre igualdad de género e intersexualidad.
✅Prohibición de las terapias de conversión desde 2016.
✅Leyes contra la discriminación desde 2004.

Sin embargo, aún se detecta un área clave de mejora: fortalecer la formación del personal sanitario para garantizar una atención inclusiva y de calidad en todo el sistema de salud. 🩺💬
