We're highlighting another student project from our Madrid Summer Session! This time, our M.Ed. student Katy presented "A Translanguaging Shift in ELA: Socratic Seminar Redesign"— a lesson plan that reimagines the traditional Socratic Seminar to center multilingual learners, not accommodate them as an afterthought.
This redesign was built with and for a classroom of speakers of Arabic, Hindi, French, Russian, Albanian, and Darija 🗣️ — because deep thinking doesn't happen in just one language, and critical thinking shouldn't require code-switching into a single "acceptable" one.
Multilingualism is deep thinking. ✨
