Five-day Manuscript Writing Workshop organized by Addis Ababa University in partnership with the NORA, EKC, and Martin Luther University Halle projects.
To strengthen scientific writing skills among MSc students, PhD fellows, and senior researchers. Included revisiting key components of manuscript development, guided practical writing sessions, and real-time feedback and consultation with supervisors and senior researchers.
Many master's students finalized substantial portions of their work, and PhD fellows made significant progress on their manuscripts.
Special thanks were given to Dr. Sefonias Getachew, Dr.Muluken Gizaw and Dr.Adamu Addissie for their engaging sessions and guidance.
The supportive and comfortable setting outside Addis Ababa contributed to sustained focus and productivity.

The Fourth Annual Research Ethics Conference brought together experts from Ethiopia and abroad to discuss "Navigating Ethical Frontiers: Responsible Development of Science and Technology for Health." Over two days, speakers explored key issues such as community engagement in research, cancer ethics, radiotherapy prioritization, ethical challenges in diagnosis disclosure, and the state of ethics education in medical training. Day 2 highlighted the "ethics of impact," stressing that research must bring real societal benefit beyond publication counts. Additional sessions addressed the ethics of handling the dead and the emerging landscape of AI governance, emphasizing the need for context-appropriate policies, stronger national regulation, and inclusive community participation. Panel discussions across both days underlined mentorship, accountability, transparency, and the importance of aligning scientific advancement with cultural values and public trust. Recognition awards and a re-enshrined commitment to strengthening the ethical research systems in Ethiopia marked the end of the conference.

አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ 75ኛ ዓመት የአልማዝ ኢዮቤልዩ በዓሉን "ያለፈውን በማክበር የተሻለ ነገን ማለም" በሚል መሪ ቃል እያከበረ ነው።

የበዓል አከባበሩን አስመልክቶ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዝዳንት ሳሙኤል ክፍሌ (ዶ/ር) መግለጫ የሰጡ ሲሆን፤ አንጋፋው የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በሰባት አስርት አመታት ጉዞው የኢትዮጵያ ፖለቲካዊ እና ማህበራዊ ለውጦች ምንጭም ውጤትም እየሆነ መዝለቁን ተናግረዋል።

የአልማዝ ኢዮቤልዩ በዓሉ የስፖርት ውድድር፣ የአካዳሚክ ሴሚናሮች፤ የፓናል ውይይቶች፣ የበጎ ፈቃድ ሥራዎች ሳምንት፣ የቤተሰብና የአጋሮች ቀንን ጨምሮ በተለያዩ ሁነቶች እንደሚከበር ተጠቁሟል።
ከ75ኛ በዓል አከባበር ባለፈ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ራስ ገዝነት አፈጻጸምን የተመለከተው መግለጫው፤ የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የራስገዝነት አፈፃፀም በደንብ ቁጥር 537/2016 ከተቋቋመበት ጊዜ አንስቶ የራስ ገዝነትን የማስጠበቅ ተግባር ሲከናወን መቆየቱ ሳሙኤል ክፍሌ (ዶ/ር) ተናግረዋል።

ዩኒቨርሲቲው የአካዳሚክ ልህቀት ማዕከልነቱን አስጠብቆ ለማስቀጠል ተፈላጊ እና አስፈላጊ ፕሮግራሞች ያሉት ሲሆን፤ የራስ ገዝነት ነፃነትን ተከትሎ ለኢትዮጵያ ብሎም ለአፍሪካ ሁለንተናዊ ለውጥ አስተዋፅኦ የሚያደርግ የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋም ለመሆን እየሰራ ይገኛልም ብለዋል።

Addis Ababa Road Safety Risk Factors Data Use Workshop.

The event focused on the risk factors associated with road safety in Addis Ababa.
It was a collaborative effort involving the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS), Johns Hopkins University (JHU) International Injury Research Unit, and Addis Ababa University (AAU).
This workshop is part of the larger Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety, which aims to reduce traffic deaths and injuries in low- and middle-income countries.
The initiative uses data to understand trends, strengthen law enforcement's capacity to implement safety policies, and promote a culture of safety. Research from these programs has identified key risk behaviors such as speeding and drunk driving.
Addis Ababa was recently recognized as a gold winner in the BIGRS Speed Challenge for its significant progress in combating dangerous driving speeds through measures like installing over 2,100 speed humps.

The EKCC Project from Addis Ababa University (AAU) held the closing ceremony of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Churchill Health Center One Stop Center.
Representatives from the Ministry of Health, Addis Ababa Health Bureau, Arada Sub-City, TASH and SPH/AAU, and women from various sub-cities attended the event.
Dr. Adamu highlighted the strong collaboration between EKCC project and Churchill Health Center, which includes services ranging from cervical and breast examination to treatment. He encouraged women to make use of these services and become ambassadors for early detection in their communities. Mrs. Kibeb from the Ministry of Health emphasized the importance of building a culture of regular breast examination and continuing community awareness beyond Breast Cancer Month.
Endocrine specialists and surgeons at TASH, Dr. Hiwot and Dr. Tesfaye, led an informative session on breast cancer risk factors, symptoms, treatment options, and the importance of early detection reminding participants that cancer is treatable when found early. The Nigat Survivors Group also shared inspiring stories and powerful messages of hope.
Following the session, participants visited the Nigat Breast Cancer Support Group Office and took part in breast examinations and screenings for other NCDs, including hypertension and diabetes.

በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሚኒስትሮች ምክር ቤት ደንብ 537/ 2016 በሀገራችን የመጀመሪያው ራስገዝ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሆኖ (መልሶ) ከተቋቋመበት ጊዜ አንስቶ በተሰሩ የሪፎርም ሥራዎችና በመደበኛ ተግባራት አፈፃፀም እንደዚሁም በተመዘገቡ ውጤቶች ላይ ያተኮረ ውይይት ተካሂዷል::

በተዘጋጀው መድረክ ላይ አዲስ የተመደቡ የዩኒቨርሲቲው አመራር አባላት የተሳተፉ ሲሆን ዓላማውም ሁሉም የአመራር አባላት ስለ ራስገዝነት በአጠቃላይ ተመሳሳይ ግንዛቤ እንዲይዙ ማስቻል፣ ወደራስገዝነት በተደረገው ሽግግር የተከናወኑ ተግባራትና የተገኙ ውጤቶች ላይ መምከር፣ አዲሱን የዩኒቨርስቲው መዋቀር ተከትሎ በተፈጠረው አደረጃጀት የስትራቴጂክ እቅድ እንዴት ማጣጣም እንደሚገባና በመጨረሻም የሚከናወነው የፈጻሚዎች መልሶ ምደባ/ ሥምሪት/ ቅጥር ስለሚፈፀምበት ማዕቀፍ መነሻ ሀሳብ ቀርቦ ውይይት ተደርጓል፡፡

አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲን ራስገዝ የማድረግ ቁልፍ ግብ ዩኒቨርስቲውን የአካዳሚክ፣ የምርምርና አገልግሎት ልህቀት ማዕከል በማድረግ መገንባት በዚህም ለአገራዊ ፍላጎቶች ምላሽ የሚሰጥ ፍላግሺፕ የምርምር ዩኒቨርስቲ መገንባት መሆኑ በቀረበው መነሻ ፅሁፍ ተዳሷል፡፡ ከዚህ አንፃር በባለፉት 24 ወራት

• ከ2016 እስከ 2020 ዓ.ም የሚቆይ ስትራቴጂክ እቅድ ማዘጋጀት
• አዲስ የሴኔት ህግ ማውጣት
• መማር ማስተማርን፣ ምርምርና ኢኖቬሽን፣ ትብብርና ዓለምአቀፋዊነት፣ ተቋም አስተዳደርና እና ሃብት ማመንጨትና፣የሀብት መሰረት ማስፋት የሚመለከቱ በርካታ ፖሊሲዎች፣ መመሪያዎች፣ ጋይድላይኖች …ወዘተ መውጣታቸው
• የአካዳሚክ ፕሮግራሞች ግምገማና መልሶ ማደራጀት ስራ መሰራቱ
• ዩኒቨርስቲው በራሱ መስፈርትና ሥርዓት ተማሪዎችን መቀበል መጀመሩ
• ስትራቴጂክ እቅዱን የሚደግፉና ወጪ ቆጣቢ የሆነ አዲስ የዩኒቨርስቲ መዋቅር ተጠንቶና በሥራ አመራር ፀድቆ ወደ ሥራ መግባቱ
• አዲስ በፀደቀው መዋቅር መሰረት የመካከለኛና መሰረታዊ አመራር ምደባ መከናወኑ
• ገቢ የማመንጫት አቅም በየጊዜው እየተሻሻለ መምጣቱንና በ2017 በጀት ዓመት ከጠቅላላ ወጪው 30 ፐርሰንት ባመነጨው ገቢ መሸፈኑ አንኳርና ዋና ዋና እንደሆኑ ተጠቅሷል፡፡

በመጨረሻም ቀጥሎ የሚከናወነው የሰራተኞች መልሶ ድልድላ/ሥምሪት/ ቅጥር በጥንቃቄ ይፈፀም ዘንድ በተዘጋጀው ማስፈፀሚያ ማዕቀፍ ላይ ሰፊ ውይይት የተካሄደ ሲሆን የተለያዩ ግብዓቶችና መሻሻያ ሃሳቦች ተሰጥተዋል፡፡

አንደ እኤአ ኦክቶበር 8/2025 የሚከበረውን አለምአቀፍ የጡት ካንሰር ገግንዛቤ መስጫ ወርን አስመልክቶ በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ የጡት ካንስር ግንዛቤ መስጫ መድረክ ተዘጋጀ ፡፡

ይሄ የግንዛቤ ማስጨበጫ መድረክ TASH Surgery Department ከ SPH/EKCC Project ጋር በመቀናጀት ያዘጋጀው ሲሆን ። ዶ/ር ሰፎኒያስ ወቅቱን በማስመልከት እንዲሁም ከ EKCC Project ጋር በአብሮነት እየተሰሩ ያሉ ስራዎች በተጠናከረ መንገድ እየተሰራ መሆኑን በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው አንስተዋል።

የጡት ካንሰር በአለምአቀፍ ደረጃ የግንዛቤ መስጫ ወር በመሆኑ የጡት ካንሰር ህመም ማህበረሰቡ ግንዛቤ ኖሮት ወደ ጤና ተቋማት በመሄድ የጤና ቅድመ ምርመራዎችን ማድረግ እንዳለበትና አንደዚህ እይነት መድረክ መዘጋጀቱ አስፈላጊ መሆኑን ተናግረዋል ፡፡

በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ ጥቁር አንበሳ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል የኦንኮሎጂስት አማካሪ ዶ/ር ማቴዎስ አሰፋ እንደተናገሩት የካንሰር ህመም ሲነሳ አሁንም ድረስ ጥቁር አንበሳ ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታልን እያጨናነቀ አንደሚገኝ አንስተው የካንሰር ህመም ተጋላጭ ላለመሆን ቅድመ ምርመራዎችን ማድረግ አንደሚገባ አስፈላጊ መሆኑን በመግለጽ በእኛ ሀገር ተሞክሮ በካንሰር ህመም ተይዘው የሚመጡ ታካሚዎች ቁጥር 70% በመቶ በላይ ደረጃ ሶስት እና አራት ላይ ሲደርስ አንደሚመጡ ተናግረው ባደጉት አገራት 80% በመቶ በላይ የሚሆኑ የካንስር ታካሚዎች የሚመጡት የህመሙ መጠን ሳይሰራጭ ደረጃ አንድ ላይ እያለ ወደ ጤና ባለሙያዎች በመምጣታቸው ምክንያት ህክምናውን በተገቢ ሁኔታ አግኝተው አንደሚድኑ በመግለጽ የጡት ካንሰር ህክምና ላይ ከፍተኛ ትኩረት በመስጠት መስራት አንደሚጠበቅ ተናግረዋል።

የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የ75 አመት አበርክቶት በታሪክ ምሁሩ እይታ...

የዛሬው አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ “አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ኮሌጅ” በሚል ስያሜ ከተመሰረተበት 1943 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ የነበረዉን ሀገራዊ አበርክቶ ከ75ኛ የአልማዝ ኢዮቤልዩ ሴሚናር ጋር ተያይዞ በራስ መኮንን አዳራሽ ዉይይት ተካሂዶበታል።

በዉይይት መድረኩ እዉቁ የታሪክ ምሁር ኤምሬተስ ኘሮፌሰር ባህሩ ዘውዴ ሰፊ ገለፃ ያቀረቡ ሲሆን ቀዳማዊ ኃይለሥላሴ ከ1920ዎች መጀመሪያ አንስቶ በሀገራችን የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋም እንዲመሰረት የነበራቸውን ምኞት እና ያሳለፋትን ዉጣ ውረድ ዳሰሳ አድረገዋል። አክለውም በ1943 የመጀመሪያ 50 ተማሪዎች በመቀበል ''አዲስ አበበ ዩኒቨርስቲ ኮሌጅ'' በሚል ስያሜ በአሁኑ የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የተፈጥሮ እና ኮምፒቴሽናል ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ ስራ መጀመሩን አስታዉሰዋል።

ይህም በኢትዮጵያ አዲስ ጅማሮ እንደነበር ጠቁመው አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲም የሁሉም ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች እናት ተቋም ተደርጎ እንደሚወሰድ ገልፀዋል።

ኘ/ር ባህሩ የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ያለፈባቸውን የ75 አመት ጉዞ በተለያዩ ምዕራፎች ከፋፍለው ዩኒቨርሲቲው የነበረውን ማህበራዊ እና ፖለቲካዊ ሚና እንዲሁም አስተዋጽኦ ተንትነዋል። በገለፃቸው በዩኒቨርሲቲዉ የኮሌጅ ቀኖች በሚቀርቡ ግጥሞች የፊውዳል ስርዓት በመተቸት የነበረውን የለውጥ አነሳሽነት እንዲሁም ሌሎች የተማሪዎች ንቅናቄዎች በተመለከተ፣ በሶሻሊዝም ዙሪያ የነበረውን ሳምንታዊ የውይይት መድረክ፣ በኢህአዴግ የአንድ ለአምስት አደረጃጀት እና በቅርቡ ደግሞ የራስ ገዝነት ጉዞውን አስመልክተው የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሚናን በሰፊው አስቃኝተዋል።

በተጨማሪም ዩኒቨርሲቲው በስኮላርሽፕ እና በዓለም አቀፍ ትብብር የነበረዉን ተሳትፎ፣ እንደ ሀገር የተገኙትን ስኬቶች እንዲሁም የሚያስቆጩ እና ያመለጡ እድሎችን አብራርተዋል።

በዉይይት መድረኩ የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር ሳሙኤል ክፍሌን ጨምሮ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ከፍተኛ አመራሮች፣ የታሪክ ምሁራን፣ የተለያዩ ባለድርሻ አካላት፣ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ማህበረሰብ እና ተማሪዎች ተሳትፈዋል።

አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ እና የኢትዮጵያ መገናኛ ብዙኃን ባለስልጣን በፈረሙት የመግባቢያ ስምምነትና በሚደራጀው የሚዲያ የልህቀት ማዕከል በጋዜጠኝነት ሙያ የፕሮፌሽናል ሰርቲፊኬት ሥልጠናዎችን ለመስጠት ዝግጅት ተጠናቆ የመጀመሪያ ዙር ሰልጠኞች ተለይተዋል፡፡

በዚህም መሰረት Water/hydro Journalism (በውሀ ጋዜጠኝነት)፣ Health Journalism (በጤና ጋዜጠኝነት)፣ Climate Journalism(በክላይሜት ጋዜጠኝነት)፣ Data Journalism (ዳታ ጋዜጠኝነት) AI Driven Journalism (ኤ አይ ጋዜጠኝነት) የትኩረት መስኮች ላይ ሥልጠና ፕሮግራሞች የተለዩ ሲሆን በቀጣይም ሌሎች የሚካተቱ ይሆናሉ፡፡

አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ ከዚህ ቀደም ከኢፌዲሪ ጉምሩክ ኮሚሽን ጋር በመሆን በጉምሩክ አስተዳደር ጋር በተገናኙ ትኩረት መስኮች ፕሮግራሞች ቀርፆ እየተገበረ መሆኑ ይታወሳል፡፡

ከፍተኛ የመንግስት ሥራ ኃላፊዎች በተገኙበት የሚዲያ ልህቀት ማዕከል ማስከፈቻ ፕሮግራም ወቅት የመሰል ፕሮፌሽናል ሰርቲፊኬት ሥልጠና ፕሮግራሞች አስፈላጊነትና ወቅታዊነት በአፅንኦት ተነስቷል፡፡
