Faculty of Social Sciences, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia This is the official page of the faculty. Faculty of Social Sciences is one of the academic and business units of Bahir Dar University. programs.

It was restructured and established in November 2008 as a split of the former Education faculty. Currently, the faculty has twelve undergraduate and nineteen postgraduate programs (12 Masters, 4 Ph.D. and 3 DEd programs). Social Anthropology, Sociology (BA), Social Work (BA), Gender and Development Studies (BA), Political Science and International Relations (PSIR), Philosophy (BA), Civics and Ethi

cal Studies (BA), Civics and Ethical Education (BED), Geography and Environmental Studies (BA), Geography and Environmental Studies (BED), History and Heritage Management (BA), and History and Heritage Management (BED) are programs where the faculty runs undergraduate studies. The twelve ongoing graduate program (Masters) are in Social Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, Civics and Ethical Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Population Studies, History (its focus is on the Modern History of the Nile valley regions), Heritage and Museum Studies, Social Work, and Gender and Development Studies. The faculty has four ongoing Ph.D. programs in Political Science and International Studies,DEd in Civic and Ethical Studies, Social Anthropology, Geography and Environmental Management, DEd in Geography, DEd in History and PhD in History. Generally, the faculty has eleven undergraduate, Twelve Masters, Four DEd and four Ph.D.

የማህበራዊ ሳይንስ ፋኩልቲ የቅድመ-ምረቃ ተማሪዎች የምርምር ሴሚናር አካሄደ

በባህር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የማህበራዊ ሳይንስ ፋኩልቲ፣ የቅድመ-ምረቃ ተማሪዎች የምርምር ሴሚናር ግንቦት 20 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም አካሂዷል። ሴሚናሩ “የቅድመ-ምረቃ ምርምርን ማሳደግ ለማህበረሰባዊ ለውጥ” በሚል መሪ ቃል የተዘጋጀ ነበር።
ሴሚናሩ በማህበራዊ ሳይንስ ፋኩልቲ ዲን በዶ/ር አየለ ታሪኩ የመክፈቻ ንግግር የተከፈተ ሲሆን፣ እርሳቸውም ለማህበረሰባዊ ችግሮች በማስረጃ ላይ የተመሰረቱ መፍትሄዎችን ለማመንጨት የቅድመ-ምረቃ ምርምር ያለውን ከፍተኛ ጠቀሜታ አፅንዖት ሰጥተው አብራርተዋል ።

ይህ መርሃ-ግብር ከፋኩልቲው ዘጠኝ የአካዳሚክ ፕሮግራሞች የተመረጡ ምርጥ የቅድመ-ምረቃ ተመራማሪዎችን በአንድ ላይ ያገናኘ ነበር። ዘጠኝ የምርምር ስራዎች ከየትምህርት ክፍሉ የቀረቡ ሲሆን፤ እነሱም የፖለቲካ ሳይንስና ዓለም አቀፍ ግንኙነት፣ የፍልስፍና፣ የሥነ-ዜጋና ስነ-ምግባር ጥናት፣ የሶሺዮሎጂ፣ ሶሻል አንትሮፖሎጂ፣ ጂኦግራፊና አካባቢ ጥናት፣ ታሪክና ቅርስ አስተዳደር፣ ሥርዓተ-ፆታና ልማት ጥናት፣ እንዲሁም ሶሻል ወርክ ፕሮግራሞችን የወከሉ ናቸው።

የቀረቡት የምርምር ስራዎችም የተለያዩ ወቅታዊ ጉዳዮችን የዳሰሱ ነበሩ፡፡ ከእነዚህም መካከል አርቴፊሻል ኢንተለጀንስ (AI) የሚያስከትላቸው የስነ-ምግባር ተፅዕኖዎች፣ የአገር በቀል ግጭት አፈታት ስልቶች፣ የኢትዮጵያ የቀይ ባህር በር ጥያቄ፣ የንፁህ መጠጥ ውሃ አቅርቦት ችግሮች እና የዘመናዊ ትምህርት ታሪክ ይገኙበታል። እነዚህ ጥናቶች የቅድመ-ምረቃ ተማሪዎች አካዳሚያዊ ምርምር በማድረግ አካባቢያዊ፣ ሀገራዊ እና አለም አቀፋዊ ጉዳዮችን በንቃት የመተንተን አቅም እንዳላቸው ያሳዩ ናቸው።

መርሃ-ግብሩ ለሁሉም አቅራቢዎች የምስክር ወረቀት በመስጠት በመስጠት ተጠናቋል።

ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ለስምንት አንጋፋ ምሁራኑ የሙሉ ፕሮፌሰርነት ማዕረግ ሰጠ!

የባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሥራ አመራር ቦርድ ግንቦት 3 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም ባካሄደው መደበኛ ስብሰባ፤ በምርምር፣ በመማር ማስተማር እና በከፍተኛ የማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት ዘርፍ ላቅ ያለ አስተዋፅኦ ላበረከቱ 8 (ስምንት) ምሁራን የሙሉ ፕሮፌሰርነት (Full Professorship) ማዕረግ እድገት መፍቀዱን በታላቅ ደስታ ይገልጻል።

እነዚህ ምሁራን ለዓመታት በእውቀት ሽግግር እና በሳይንሳዊ ምርምር ዘርፍ ላሳዩት ትጋትና ለሀገራዊ ዕድገት ላበረከቱት የማይተካ ሚና ይህ ከፍተኛ የአካዳሚክ ማዕረግ የሚገባቸው መሆኑ በቦርዱ ተረጋግጧል።

3. ፕሮፌሰር ዳዊት አስራት ጌታሁን – በ Educational Psychology
4. ፕሮፌሰር ደሳለኝ እጅጉ ብርሐኔ – በዱር እንስሳት ኢኮሎጂ እና ጥበቃ (Wildlife Ecology & Conservation)

5. ፕሮፌሰር ፍቅረሰላም ጋረድ መንግሥቱ – በኮሙኒኬሽን ኢንጂነሪንግ (Communication Engineering)
6. ፕሮፌሰር ጌታሁን የማታ ሉሌ – በዕፅዋት ኢኮፊዚዮሎጂ (Plant Ecophysiology)

7. ፕሮፌሰር ጌትነት ታምሩ ጥግነህ– በ Inorganic Chemistry
8. ፕሮፌሰር ማተብ ታፈረ ገድፈው – በትምህርት ፖሊሲ እና አመራር (Education Policy and Leadership)
