የዲላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በኢትዮጵያ ኢኮኖሚ ጉዳይ ላይ አውደ ጥናት አካሄደ

ዲላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የፖሊሲ አውጪዎች፣ ምሁራንና፣ አጋር አካላት በተገኙበት "የኢትዮጵያ ማክሮ ኢኮኖሚ ወቅታዊ ጉዳዮች እና ለውጦች" በሚል መሪ ቃል አውደ ጥናት አካሂዷል።
የዲሊ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዝዳንት ቶሎሳ ዳዲ (ዶ/ር) በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው ላይ፣ አውደ ጥናቱ ዩኒቨርሲቲው ወደ ተግባር ሳይንስ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የሚያደርገውን ሽግግርና ምርምሮቹን ከተጨባጭ የፖሊሲ አቅጣጫዎች ጋር ለማስተሳሰር የሚያደርገውን ጥረት የሚያመለክት እንደሆነ ገልፀዋል። አክለውም፣ ኢትዮጵያ በኑሮ ውድነት እና የውጪ ገንዘብ ምንዛሪ እጥረት ምክንያት ብትፈተንም፣ ሀገሪቷ ከፍተኛ የሆነ የሰው ኃይል ሀብት፣ የግብርና እና የኢንዱስትሩ አቅሞችን እየገነባች ስለመሆኑ አንስተዋል።
እንደ ዶ/ር ቶሎሳ ገለፃ፣ የኢኮኖሚ ማሻሻያው የማክሮ ኢኮኖሚውን ከማረጋጋት ባሻገር፣ የስራ ዕድልን መፍጠር፣ የኑሮ ደረጃን ማሳደግ እና አካታች እድገትን ማረጋገጥ አለበት። አክለውም፣ በዩኒቨርሲቲዎች፣ ማህበራት እና የመንግስት ተቋማት መካከል የሚደረገው ትብብር የተሰሩ ምርምሮችን ወደ ውጤታማ ፖሊሲዎች ለመተርጎም አጋዥ መሆናቸውን ገልፀዋል።
የዲላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የአካዳሚክ ጉዳዮች ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት ታምራት በየነ (ዶ/ር) ባደረጉት የእንኳን ደህና መጥታችሁ መልዕክት፣ ዩኒቨርሲቲው በየጊዜው የሚመጡ ለውጦችን ከግምት ውስጥ በማስገባት በሁሉም ዘርፍ የተሻለ ውጤት እንዲመዘገብ ጠንክሮ እየሰራ ያለ ተቋም እንደሆነ ገልፀዋል።
መድረኩ በሀገር ደረጃ እየተወሰዱ ያሉ የማክክሮ ኢኮኖሚ ማሻሻያ ስራዎች እና በሌሎች የኢኮኖሚ ጉዳዮች ላይ አስተዋጽዖ ለማበርከት እንደሚያግዝም ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንቱ ጠቁመዋል።
ወደ ተግባር ሳይንስ ለመግባት እያደረግን ያለነውን ጥረት የበለጠ እውን ለማድረግ እየተጋን ባለንበት ሰዓት ይህንን ሊደግፉ ከሚችሉ ተቋማት ጋር በቅንጅት መስራት በፍጥነት ትልሞቻችን ጋር እንድንደርስ ያግዘናል ብለዋል ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንቱ በመልዕክታቸው።
የኢትዮጵያ ኢኮኖሚክስ ማህበር ፕሬዝዳንት ፕሮፌሰር ጣሰው ወልደሀና በበኩላቸው፣ ኢትዮጵያ የሀገር በቀል የኢኮኖሚ ማሻሻያን በመተግበር ላይ እንደምትገኝ ገልፀዋል። የዚህ ዓይነቱ ሪፎርም እውነተኛ ተስፋን የያዘ ትልቅ ለውጥ የሚያመጣ ቢሆንም፣ ዋጋም የሚያስከፍል በመሆኑ ፖሊሲዎች ተዓማኒ በሆኑ መረጃዎች እና ፍፁም በሆኑ ትንተናዎች ላይ መመስረት አለባቸው ብለዋል።
ፕሮፌሰር ጣሰው አክለውም፣ ማህበሩ የኢኮኖሚ ባለሙያዎችን በማቀራረብ እውቀት እንዲለዋወጡ እና በተመራማሪዎች፣ ፖሊሲ አውጪዎች እና ህዝቡ መካከል የምክክር መድረኮች እንዲፈጠሩ ስያመቻች መቆየቱን አውስተዋል። ትክክለኛ የኢኮኖሚ ፖሊሲዎች በእውነተኛ መረጃ እና ገንቢ በሆኑ ምክክሮች ላይ የተመሠረቱ እንዲሆኑ የማህበሩ እምነት መሆኑንም ተናግረዋል።
በአውደ ጥናቱ ላይ የተለያዩ የምርምር ፅሁፎች ሲቀርቡ፣ በኑሮ ውድነት፣ የፖሊሲ ተዓማኒነት፣ እንዲሁም የታክስ አቅሞች እና ከሰሃራ በታች በሚገኙ ሀገራት እየተደረጉ ያሉ ጥረቶች ተዳሰዋል። ፅሁፉ ሁለት መሠረታዊ ጥያቄዎችን ስመልስ፣ የዋጋ መረጋጋትን እንዴት መመለስ እንደሚቻል እና ሀብቶችን እንዴት ማሰባሰብ እንደሚቻል መፍትሄ ያመላከተ እንደነበር ለማወቅ ተችሏል።

Dilla University Conducts Workshop on Ethiopian Economy

Dilla University opened a workshop on “Contemporary Issues and Developments in the Ethiopian Economy” in the presence of policymakers, scholars, and partners.
Dilla University President Tolossa Dadi (PhD), in his opening remarks, underscored that the forum reflects the university’s transformation into a University of Applied Sciences and its mission to link research with real‑world policy. He noted that while Ethiopia faces challenges such as inflation and foreign exchange shortages, the country also holds vast potential in human resources, agriculture, and emerging industries.
Dr. Tolossa emphasized that economic reforms must go beyond macroeconomic stability to create jobs, raise living standards, and ensure inclusive growth. He added that collaboration between universities, associations, and government institutions is vital to translating research into effective policy.
In his welcoming address, Tamrat Beyene (PhD), Vice President for Academic Affairs at Dilla University, affirmed that the institution is working diligently to register better results across all fields by continuously adapting to emerging changes.
He noted that the forum contributes to national efforts on macroeconomic reforms and other pressing economic issues, underscoring the university’s role in fostering meaningful impact.
Dr. Tamrat emphasized that as the university advances toward becoming a University of Applied Sciences, close collaboration with partner institutions is essential. Such partnerships, he said, will accelerate progress and help the university achieve its aspirations more effectively.
President of the Ethiopian Economics Association, Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, said Ethiopia is implementing an ambitious homegrown economic reform agenda. Such large‑scale reform carries real promise but also entails adjustment costs and frictions. In such a period, policy must be guided by credible data and rigorous analysis.
He added that the EEA has served as a platform bringing economists together to share knowledge and expertise, and to facilitate dialogue among researchers, academics, policymakers, and the public. He underscored that the Association believes sound economic policy must be grounded in credible data, rigorous research, and constructive dialogue.
Papers were presented on inflation and policy credibility, as well as on tax capacity and effort in Sub‑Saharan Africa, addressing two central questions: how to secure price stability and how to mobilize domestic resources for development.
