የጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ካውንስል አባላት የ2019 በጀት ዓመት የሥራ ዕቅድን በጥልቀት በመገምገም እና አስፈላጊውን ማሻሻያ በማድረግ በሙሉ ድምፅ አጽድቋል።

የ2019 በጀት ዓመት የስራ ዕቅድ ግምገማውን የመሩት የጋምቤላ ዩነቨርሲቲ ፕሬዝዳንት ዶ/ር ድሪባ ኢትቻ በንግግራቸው እንደገለጹት የ2019 በጀት ዓመት የስራ ዕቅድ የ2018 በጀት ዓመት የቁልፍ አመላካቾች አፈፃፀም ግምገማን መነሻ በማድረግ መዘጋጀቱን ጠቅሰው የተዘጋጀው ዕቅድ ከየተኛውም ጊዜ በላይ የተሻለና የተቀናጀ መሆኑን አስረድተዋል።

ፕሬዝዳንቱ አክለውም ሰነዱ በ2019 በጀት ዓመቱን ሙሉ የምናከናውነው የጋራ እቅድ በመሆኑ የካውንስል አባላት በንቃት እንዲሳተፉና ገንቢ አስተያየት በመስጠት እንደዲያሻሽሉት ጋብዘዋል፡፡

የስትራቴጂክ ጉዳዮች ስራ አስፈፃሚ ዶ/ር ሐጎስ ብርሃኔ የዩኒቨርሲቲውን ዓመታዊ ዕቅድ ለካውንስል አባላት ያቀረቡ ሲሆን ተቋማዊ መረጃዎች፣ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ተልዕኮ፣ ራዕይና እሴቶች፣ ያለፈው በጀት ዓመት የፕሮግራሞች አፈፃጸም ጥንካሬዎችና ማሻሻያ የሚሹ ጉዳዮች፣ የዕቅዱ መነሻ ሀሳቦች፤ ሰትራቴጂካዊ አቅጣዎችና የትኩረት መስኮች፣ ግቦች፣ ዓላማ፣ ዋና ዋና ተግባራት እና ማስፀሚያ ስልቶች እንዲሁም የድጋፍና ክተትል የግምገማ ስርዓት በዕቅዱ ተካተዋል፡፡

የዩኒቨርሲቲው የካውንስል አባላትም በቀረበው የ2019 በጀት ዓመት የስራ ዕቅድ ላይ ሰፊ ግምገማ ያካሄደ ሲሆን በተይም በ2019 በጀት ዓመት ድጂታላይዜሽንን ማስፋፋትና መጠቀም፣ የውስጥ ገቢ መሳደግ፣ አለም አቀፋዊነትን ማጠናከር፣ ችግር ፈቺ ጥናትና ምርምሮችን ማከሄድና አካባቢውን ማህበረሰብ ተጠቃሚ ማድረግ ላይ መስራቱ ይበልጥ ጠቀሜታ እንዳለው ተጠቅሷል።

በመጨረሻም የጋምቤላ ዩነቨርሲቲ ፕሬዝዳንት ዶ/ር ድሪባ ኢትቻ በክልሉ ያሉትን የተፈጥሮ ፀጋዎቸ በመጠቀም ማህበረሰቡን ተጠቃሚ ለማድረግ መዘጋጀት፣ በዩኒቨርሲቲው ውሰጥ ምቹ የስራ አካባቢ መፍጠር፣ የተቋማዊ አቅም ግንባታና የገቢ ማስገኛ ስራዎች ላይ ሰፊ ስራዎችን መስራት፣ የተጀመሩ የግንባታ ፕሮጀክቶችን ማጠናቀቅ ሀገራችን ያለችበትን ሁኔታ በመረዳት የ2019 በጀት በልዩ ሁኔታ በትብብርና በትጋት በመስራት የተሻለ ለውጥ የምናስመዘግብበት ዓመት መሆን አለበት ሲሉ አሳስበው በእቅዱ ውስጥ ሳይካተቱ የተዘነጉ ጉዳዮች ካሉ በአጭር ጊዜ ውስጥ እንዲካተቱ አስቀምጠዋል፡፡

Gambella University Council Evaluates and Approved 2019 fiscal year Annual Work Plan

Members of the Gambella University Council have unanimously approved the 2019 Ethiopian Fiscal Year (EFY) work plan following a comprehensive evaluation and necessary refinements.

In his remarks, Dr. Diriba Etcha, President of Gambella University who led the evaluation of the 2019 fiscal year work plan, noted that the plan was prepared based on the performance evaluation of the 2018 fiscal year key performance indicators (KPIs). He explained that the drafted plan is more comprehensive and well-integrated than ever before.

The President further added that since the document serves as a shared plan to guide all institutional ex*****on throughout the 2019 fiscal year, council members should actively participate and enrich it by providing constructive feedback.

Dr. Hagos Berhane, Executive Director for Strategic Affairs, presented the University's annual plan to the council members. The plan incorporates institutional profile, the University's mission, vision, and core values, program performance strengths and areas requiring improvement from the previous fiscal year, Initial Concepts of the plan, strategic directions and priority focus areas, goals, objectives, main activities, and ex*****on strategies, as well as support, monitoring, and evaluation systems.

Following the presentation, council members engaged in extensive deliberations, highlighting several critical strategic priorities for the 2019 fiscal year.

These priorities focused on expanding digital infrastructure and adoption, boosting internal revenue generation, and enhancing the institution's internationalization efforts. Additionally, the council emphasized the importance of conducting problem-solving research that directly empowers and benefits the local community.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Diriba Etcha provided several key directives to guide the University's upcoming efforts. He emphasized leveraging the region's natural resources to benefit surrounding communities, creating a conducive working environment across all University campuses, and aggressively executing institutional capacity-building initiatives and revenue-generating projects completing ongoing construction projects.

Finally, he called for exceptional dedication and collaboration in light of the national context, instructing the council to swiftly integrate any remaining omitted items into the final plan.

ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ እና አፍሪካን ፓርክስ ኔትወርክ በአካባቢ ጥበቃና በምርምር ዙሪያ በጋራ ለመስራት የመግባቢያ ስምምነት ተፈራረሙ፤
ህዝብና ዓለም አቀፍ ግንኙነት (ሐምሌ 30/2018 ዓ.ም)

ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከተፈጥሮ ጥበቃ እና ከተፈጥሮ ሀብት እንክብካቤ ጋር በተያያዘ የጋራ ምርምሮችን እና የአቅም ግንባታ ስራዎችን በጋራ ለመስራት የሚያስችለውን የመግባቢያ ሰነድ (MoU) ከዓለም አቀፉ የብዝሃ-ሕይወት ጥበቃ ድርጅት አፍሪካን ፓርክስ ኔትወርክ ጋር ተፈራረመ።

አፍሪካን ፓርክስ ኔትወርክ በደቡብ አፍሪካ የኩባንያዎች አዋጅ (2008) መሠረት የተቋቋመ ጆሃንስበርግ የሚገኝና ለትርፍ ያልተቋቋመ ከመንግስት እና ከአካባቢው ማህበረሰብ ጋር በመተባበር የብሔራዊ ፓርኮችን መልሶ በማቋቋም በአስተዳደር ኃላፊነት ላይ የተሰማራ መንግስታዊ ያልሆነ የአካባቢ ጥበቃ ድርጅት ነው።

በፊርማ ስነ-ስርዓቱ ላይ የተገኙት የጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዝዳንት ዶ/ር ድሪባ ኢትቻ አፍሪካን ፓርክስ ከዩኒቨርሲቲው ጋር ለመስራት ያሳየውን ቁርጠኝነት አድንቀዋል። የጋምቤላ ክልል በተፈጥሮ ሀብት የበለጸገ አካባቢ መሆኑን ያረጋገጡት ፕሬዝዳንቱ፣ ይህን ሀብት የአካባቢውን ህብረተሰብ ተጠቃሚ በሚያደርግ መልኩ ስራ ላይ ለማዋል ዩኒቨርሲቲው በጥናትና ምርምር ዘርፍ የበኩሉን አስተዋጽኦ እንደሚያበረክት ገልጸዋል።

አክለውም ክልሉ በተባበሩት መንግስታት የትምህርት፣ የሳይንስና የባህል ድርጅት (UNESCO) የተመዘገቡ ሁለት የባዮስፌር ሪዘርቮች ባለቤት እና በሀገራችን ትልቁ ብሄራዊ ፓርክ የሚገኝበት አካባቢ መሆኑን አሳትውሰዋል።

በመሆኑም ስራዎችን በጥናትና ምርምር በመደገፍ በተፈጥሮ ሀብት አያያዝና አጠቃቀም ላይ እምርታዊ ለውጥ ለማምጣት በጥብቅ እንደሚሰራ ተናግረዋል።

የጋምቤላ ብሄራዘዊ ፓርክ ስራ አስኪያጅ ሀይሐየሱስ ታደሰ በበኩላቸው ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ እንደ ከፍተኛ የትምህርት ተቋምነቱ በአካባቢ ጥበቃና ተፈጥሮ ሀብት አጠቃቀም ዙሪያ በሚደረጉ እንቅስቃሴዎች ሳይንሳዊ ግኝቶችንና ምርምሮችን በማቅረብ ማህበራዊ ኃላፊነቱን እንዲወጣ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል።

በተመሳሳይ የጋምቤላ ብሄራዊ ፓርክ ጥበቃ ስራ አስኪያጅ ፕሮፌሰር ሀንስ ባውር እንደገለጹት ጋምቤላ ብሄራዊ ፓርክ የበርካታ የዱር እንስሳት መኖሪያና ትልቅ ተፈጥሯዊ ሀብት ነው። ፓርኩን በተገቢው መንገድ በመጠበቅና በመንከባከብ የሚጠበቅበትን ዘላቂ ጥቅም እንዲሰጥ ከጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጋር በቅንጅት መስራት የጎላ ጠቀሜታ እንዳለው አስረድተዋል።

የስምምነቱ ዋና ዋና ትኩረቶች ነጥቦች የጋራ ምርምር እና የትዊኒንግ (Twinning) ፖሊሲ ማዘጋጀት፣ ተማሪዎች እና የባለሙያዎች በምርምር ማሳተፍ፣ የቴክኒክ እና የዳታ ትንተና አቅም ማሳደግና የእውቀት ሽግግር ናቸው፡፡

ስምምነቱን የጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዝዳንት ዶ/ር ድሪባ ኢቲቻ እና የ’አፍሪካን ፓርክስ ኔትወርክ ዋና የስራ አስፈጻሚ አቶ ቻርልስ ዌልስ በየተቋሞቻቸው ስም ፈርመዋል::

ይህ አጋርነት አካዳሚያዊ ምርምርን ከተግባራዊ የመስክ ተፈጥሮ ጥበቃ ጋር በማጣመር የክልሉን ተፈጥሮአዊ ቅርሶች ለመጠበቅ የሚያስችሉ ተግባራዊ ግንዛቤዎችን በማጠናከር የሚቀጥለውን የኢትዮጵያ የአካባቢ ጥበቃ ሳይንቲስቶች ትውልድ ለማብቃት ያለመ ነው።

Gambella University and African Parks Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding to Boost Conservation Research and Capacity Building

Gambella University and the African Parks Network (APN) have formally entered into a strategic collaboration agreement aimed at advancing conservation research, improving data analysis, and building academic capacity to protect the Gambella National Park and its surrounding buffer zones.

African Parks Network is a non-profit biodiversity conservation organization established under the South African Companies Act (2008) in Johannesburg. APN specializes in the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks across Africa in direct partnership with governments and local communities.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the President of Gambella University, Dr. Diriba Eticha, commended African Parks for its commitment to working with the University. Emphasizing that the Gambella region is rich in natural resources, the President affirmed that the University will contribute through research to ensure these resources benefit the local community.

He further highlighted that the region is home to two UNESCO-registered biosphere reserves and the largest national park in Ethiopia, stating that the University will work diligently to drive transformative progress in natural resource management through scientific research.

Gambella National Park Manager, Hayleyesus Tadesse, noted that as a higher education institution, Gambella University should fulfill its social responsibility by producing scientific findings and research to support environmental protection and natural resource management.

Similarly, the Conservation Manager of Gambella National Park, Professor Hans Bauer, stated that Gambella National Park hosts abundant wildlife and represents a major natural asset. He explained that collaborating with the University has significant value in ensuring the park is properly protected and managed to yield sustainable benefits.

The newly established partnership focuses on establishing a campus-based data laboratory at GmU to drive applied evidence-based conservation research for wildlife-protected areas, Implementation of the 'Twinning' Policy, Original & aligned research projects, Knowledge Sharing & seminars:

The agreement was signed by Dr. Diriba Eticha, President of Gambella University, and Mr. Charles Wells, COO of African Parks Network, on behalf of their respective institutions.

The agreement brings together GmU, and leading Ethiopian public higher education and research institutions, and APN, a South Africa-headquartered non-profit conservation organization together for the common goal

ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የአንድ ጀምበር ችግኝ ተከላ ዘመቻ መርሃ ግብር በስኬት አካሄደ፤
ህዝብና ዓለም አቀፍ ግንኙነት (ሐምሌ 27/2018)

ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የአካባቢ ጥበቃ እና ማህበራዊ ኃላፊነትን በሚያሳይ መልኩ ዛሬ የአንድ ቀን የችግኝ ተከላ ፕሮግራም በተሳካ ሁኔታ አከናወኗል። ዝግጅቱ የተካሄደው በሀገሪቱ ዋነኛው "አረንጓዴ ቅርስ" ዘመቻ ፣ "ተስፋን እንትከል" በሚል ብሔራዊ መሪ ቃል መሠረት ነው።

ዘመቻው በአንድ ቀን 800 ሚሊዮን ችግኞችን ለመትከል ለተያዘው ብሔራዊ ግብ አስተዋፅኦ ለማድረግ የተቀናጀ ጥረት ያደረገ ሲሆን፣ የጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ማህበረሰብ ይህንን ታሪካዊ ድል በማስመዝገብ ረገድ ወሳኝ ሚና ተጫውቷል።

የተከላ ዘመቻው የዩኒቨርሲቲውን ማህበረሰብ በሙሉ አንድ ያደረገ አስደናቂ የአንድነት እና ቁርጠኝነት ማሳያ ሲሆን በዘመቻው ላይ ዩአስተዳደርና ቢዝነስ ልማት ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት፣ ዳይሬክተሮች፣ ዲኖች እና ስራ አስፈጸጻሚዎች፣ መምህራን እና የአስተዳደር ሰራተኞች ተሳትፈዋል።

የተቋማት ትብብርን በሚያሳይ መልኩ፣ በዩኒቨርሲቲው የሚገኙት የፌዴራል ፖሊስ አባላትም ከዩኒቨርሲቲው ማህበረሰብ ጋር በመቀላቀል ለአካባቢ ጥበቃ ያላቸውን የጋራ ኃላፊነት አጠናክረዋል።

Gambela University Successfully Conducts Massive Tree Plantation Drive under the National "Plant Hope" Initiative

In a resounding demonstration of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility, Gambella University successfully executed a one-day seedling plantation program today. The event was held as part of the nation’s flagship "Green Legacy" initiative, operating under the national motto, "Plant Hope."

The campaign saw a coordinated effort to contribute to the goal, national target of planting 800 million seedlings in a single day, with the Gambella University community playing a pivotal role in achieving this historic milestone.

The planting campaign witnessed an overwhelming display of unity and commitment, bringing together the entire university family.
During the planting campaign, seedlings beneicial for food, shade and environmental asthetivs were planted, with the active participation of Adminstration and development vice president, directors, deans, instructors, admin staff.

In a notable display of inter-agency cooperation, the Federal Police forces stationed in the university also joined the university community, reinforcing the collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.

Demonstrating a strategic approach to environmental management, the university planted a diverse range of seedlings carefully selected for their multi-purpose benefits.

ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በግብርና ምርቶች የውስጥ ገቢውን እያሳደገ ይገኛል፤
ህዝብና ዓለም አቀፍ ግንኙነት (ሐምሌ 23/2018 ዓ.ም)

ጋምቤላ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከመማር ማስተማርና ከምርምር ስራ ጎን ለጎን የተለያዩ የግብርና ሰብሎችን በማምረትና ለገበያ በማቅረብ የውስጥ ገቢውን ለማሳደግ የሚያደርገውን እንቅስቃሴ አጠናክሮ ቀጥሏል።

ባሳለፍነው የ2017 የምርት ዘመን ዩኒቨርሲቲው ካከናወናቸው የልማት ስራዎች መካከል 200 ኩንታል ማሽላ መሰብሰብ የቻለ ሲሆን፣ የተሰበሰበውን ምርት በተመጣጣኝ ዋጋ ለአካባቢው ማህበረሰብ እና ለዩኒቨርሲቲው ሠራተኞች በማቅረብ ላይ ይገኛል።

ይህ እንቅስቃሴ በኑሮ ውድነት ላይ አዎንታዊ አስተዋጽኦ እያበረከተ የሚገኝ ሲሆን ከማሽላ ምርት በተጨማሪም ዩኒቨርሲቲው ሩዝም አምርቷል፣

ዩኒቨርሲቲው የሰብል ልማት አድማሱን ለማስፋት በተደረገው ጥረት በዘንድሮው ዓመት 7 ሄክታር ለውዝ እና 1.5 ሄክታር መሬት ላይ ያለማው የሙዝ ተክል ደግሞ ምርት መስጠት ጀምሯል።

ዩኒቨርሲቲው ይህንን የማህበረሰብ አቀፍ የልማት ስራ እና የምርት እንቅስቃሴ አጠናክሮ በመቀጠል፣ የራሱን የውስጥ ገቢ ከማሳደጉም በላይ ለአካባቢው አርሶ አደሮችና ማህበረሰብ ዘመናዊ የግብርና ቴክኖሎጂዎችንና አሰራሮችን የሚያስፋፋበት መልካም አጋጣሚ ተፈጥሯል።

Gambella University Boosting Internal Revenue through Agricultural Products

Gambella University is actively strengthening its efforts to boost internal revenue by producing and supplying various agricultural crops to the market, alongside its core learning-teaching and research activities.

Among the development initiatives carried out during the past 2017 harvest season, the university successfully harvested 200 quintals of sorghum.

The harvested yield is currently being supplied at affordable prices to the local community and university staff, making a positive contribution toward alleviating the cost of living.

In addition to sorghum, the university has also produced rice.

As part of ongoing efforts to expand its crop cultivation horizon this year, it is cultivating: 7 hectares of groundnuts (peanuts) and 1.5 hectares of banana plantation, which has begun yielding fruit.

It was highlighted that by scaling up these community-oriented development activities and agricultural initiatives, the university is not only increasing its internal revenue, but also creating a great opportunity to introduce modern agricultural technologies and practices to local farmers and the surrounding community.

የኢንፎርሜሽንና ኮምዩኒኬሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ሥራ አስፈፃሚ ለስራ ክፍሉ ባለሙያዎች የቴክኒክ አቅም ለማጎልበትና በኔትዎርክ መሠረተ ልማት ላይ የሚደርሱ ጉዳቶችን በራሳቸው አቅም እንዲጠግኑ የሚያስችል የኔትዎርክ ፋይበር ጥገና ስልጠና ከሐምሌ 15 2018 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ እየሰጠ ይገኛል።

ስልጠናው በንድፈ ሐሳብና በተግባራዊ ልምምድ የተደገፈ ሲሆን በተለያዩ ጊዜያት በተቋሙ የኔትዎርክ መሠረተ ልማት ላይ የሚደርሱ ብልሽቶችን በፍጥነትና በብቃት ለመጠገን የሚያስችል ዕውቀትና ክህሎት የሚሰጥ ነው።

ስልጠናው የባለሙያዎችን የቴክኒክ አቅም ከማጎልበቱም ባሻገር የኔትዎርክ አገልግሎት መቋረጥን በመቀነስ ቀጣይነት ያለውን የአገልግሎት አሰጣጥ ለማረጋገጥ ከፍተኛ ሚና እንደሚኖረው ተገልጿል።

የኔትዎርክ መሠረተ ልማት የጥገና መሳሪያዎችን ያቀረበው ኤች..ቲ . ኤም ኃላፊነቱ የተወሰነ የግል ማህበር በአቶ ይርጋለም ቦጋለ አሰልጣኝነት ስልጠናውን በልዩ ሙያዊ ብቃት እየሰጠ ሲሆን ተሳታፊ ባለሙያዎችም በተግባራዊ ልምምድ የተደገፈ የጥገና ክህሎት እያገኙ ይገኛሉ።

የኢንፎርሜሽን ኮሚዩኒኬሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ሥራ አስፈፃሚ መ/ር አበበ አላምቦ በስልጠናው ወቅት እንደገለጹት የክፍሉን ባለሙያዎች አቅም የሚያጎለብቱ ቀጣይነት ያላቸው የቴክኒክ ስልጠናዎችን በመስጠት በተቋሙ የቴክኖሎጂ መሠረተ ልማት ዘላቂነትና አስተማማኝነት ላይ ትኩረት ያደረጉ ተግባራት ተጠናክርው እንደሚቀጥሉ ጠቅሰዋል።

Gambella University ICT Executive Conducting Network Infrastructure Maintenance Training for the Department Experts

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Executive has been conducting network fiber maintenance training since July 22, 2026 to enhance the technical capacity of the department's experts, enabling them to repair damage to the network infrastructure independently.

The training is supported by both theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, equipping participants with the skills needed to quickly and efficiently repair network infrastructure disruptions that occur within the institution from time to time.
It was noted that beyond enhancing the technical capacity of the experts, the training will play a significant role in reducing network downtime and ensuring continuous service delivery.
