The international Master’s Degree Programme in Creative Sustainability (CS) is a joint master’s degree programme at School of Arts, Design and Architecture, School of Business and School of Engineering. Aalto University's Creative Sustainability programme provides a multidisciplinary learning platform, dealing with the significant sustainability challenges, such as climate change, resource scarcit

y, global poverty, social and economic inequality, and adaptation to rapid global socio-economic changes. Creative Sustainability studies prepare students to work as sustainability experts in organizations that have a strategic view on transformation towards sustainability. These include the private and public sectors as well as a wide range of NGO´s.

More-Than-Human Futures 🌱
In May, NODUSTalks brings a conversation on more-than-human perspectives to Oodi Helsinki Central Library.
Professor Ida Nilstad Pettersen (NTNU) explores how alternative ways of relating to non-human nature can challenge human-centred approaches.
Artistic researcher Gloria Lauterbach (Aalto University) reflects on darkness as an urban condition and its role in supporting ecological and human health.

🤩 Wow!! That’s a BLAST!! 💐 Last Wednesday, Creative Sustainability had the opening of its first inaugural show.

The evening began with a series of PechaKucha presentations where graduating students from all CS tracks (BIZ, CHEM, ARTS) shared with the audience their projects. After the presentations, guests explored the pieces exhibited in Väre. Congratulations to all the graduates!

💚 Many thanks to the whole team and people involved making this show possible, and to our sponsors and for providing us with some vegan snacks.

4 days to the opening of the first ever Creative Sustainability Graduation Show!

🌏 This show brings together 10 interdisciplinary Design projects that bring about not only questions, but open up new imaginaries of living more consciously in this world. Through diverse formats and media, the projects presented in the exhibition highlight urgent challenges we are facing in the 21st century while offering glimpses into just, resilient, and hopeful futures.

❓Creative Sustainability as a master’s programme is about analysing and rethinking sustainability issues through different disciplines and methodologies.

🌟 This exhibtion is a part of Aalto University's ARTS Grad Show 2025, Designs for a Cooler Planet festival, and also of the Helsinki Design Week official programme.
