Savonia’s graduation ceremonies celebrated the future changemakers! 🎓

Graduates were celebrated at Savonia’s Kuopio and Iisalmi campuses. Each year, around 1,400 new professionals graduate from Savonia, joining a community of over 33,000 alumni. 💖

At the graduation ceremonies, our students’ expertise was visible in many ways — including the Rector’s ceremonial outfit, which was designed and crafted by students down to the finest details. This is Savonia expertise, creativity, and courage at their very best! 💎

The keynote speeches highlighted the importance of dreaming big, as well as our shared responsibility to build a sustainable and well-being-focused society. 🍎

The career monitoring survey is an important part of this work. It helps us learn how graduates from 2020 (both Bachelor’s and Master’s level) have found employment and how they perceive the value of their education in their careers. 💡

By responding, you help us:

“I simply want to develop my skills so I can perform my job even better. In addition, studying brings me a new kind of personal capital."🧠

Iso Leivo applied to study for a Master’s degree in Engineering. 🏆🔥

He also completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Production Technology, graduating from Savonia in 2008. 😍

What stands out most from his student days is the sense of community with fellow students and an unforgettable internship abroad. 🌍

"I spent four months in Budapest, Hungary, and travelled widely across Europe. Going abroad was a great experience", Leivo says.

🏸When Ahsan Lemon moved from Bangladesh to Finland to study at Savonia University of Applied Sciences, he began competing more actively in badminton. In the spring, he won gold at the Finnish Student Championships representing Savonia.

"Life is a bit like a shuttlecoc: ksometimes you’re soaring high, sometimes you’re down low, but both movements matter if you want to keep scoring points," he explains. 🥇

Hello graduate of 2020!🎓🌞

The target group of the Career Monitoring Survey now includes all graduates from bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes of universities of applied sciences in 2020. A link to the survey will be sent by email and text message.⏰

The survey gathers information on, among other things, graduates’ employment and satisfaction with their degree. The results help us improve teaching, respond to current competence needs, and use the insights in areas such as career guidance.🔍

So please remember to respond to the survey – your answer is very important to us! 💖
