Greetings from Erasmus+ staff exchange in Iceland!
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Professor Gísli Kristófersson at the School of Health, Business and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Nursing, University of Akureyri. During my visit, I met and discussed with faculty members, doctoral students, and clinical nurse specialists, exchanging insights on education at all levels, healthcare systems, current research, and advanced practice nursing roles. I also visited Akureyri Hospital, which complemented the discussions by offering a view into clinical nursing practice in the Icelandic context. Together, these visits and discussions provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on similarities and differences between our countries and to identify shared interests for future collaboration.
Alongside the academic programme, I experienced Iceland’s breathtaking natural landscapes. The combination of professional exchange and extraordinary scenery made the visit especially inspiring and memorable. My sincere thanks to Professor Kristófersson for the warm hospitality and for making the visit so meaningful. I very much look forward to continuing our collaboration and further strengthening the partnership between our institutions.
