Yesterday we had the privilege to catch up with how Niklas Sandler's spinoff company CurifyLabs is doing nowadays at the HealthBIO event, based on a decade of academic research here at PSL 🖨️ 💊 ⚕️ (see some of the slides below!)

Today we are sailing a sunny Baltic sea on the 4th Microbe Cruise "Microbes, Infections and Omics" excited to see a former MSc graduate on the speakers list 🧑‍🏫 🦠 🏥 Clearly the new academic year is in full swing now!

*Phew* what a successful FinPharmaNet annual meeting once again ⚕️ 💊 🧬 A full bus from Turku with ÅAU and UTU participants 🚌 and >150 participants overall in sunny Kuopio this time 🧑‍🏫 Fantastic PSL representation in the talk lineup (and also the karaoke of course 🎤).

We're even leaving with a couple of prizes, Jonne for best talk in his session and Chengcheng for elevator pitch 🏆 Next year in Turku 19-20.8.2027 then, planning is already ongoing 📝 Welcome all ‼️

🧑‍🎓 MSc Chengcheng Li will publicly defend their thesis in drug development with the thesis “Engineering Intelligent Multifunctional Nanoplatforms for Combination Cancer Therapy” on Monday, 29.6.2026 at 13:00 in auditorium Argentum, Henrikinkatu 2.

🧑‍🏫 Professor Josep Samitier Marti, University of Barcelona will serve as opponent and custos is professor Hongbo Zhang, Åbo Akademi University.

Concluding three intensive days with parting ways - youngsters staying for the lipid workshop, the elderly having to take very early (and still full) morning trains to reach their flights to Turku / Amsterdam in time 🚂 🌎 🥱 Thanks for a wonderful event as always ❤️ ⚕️ 💊 🇩🇰 🇫🇮 🇮🇸 🇳🇴 🇸🇪

Challenging trip but all five PSL:ers accounted for 😃 TKU-CPH flight cancelled, HKI-CPH flights fully booked...railroad construction between Copenhagen and Odense so less trains and not possible to book seats on the full trains; track construction also on the tramline so tram not coming to campus 🚧 Even campus construction ongoing so not so easy to find the right building 😁 But here we are and here we go 💯👍 🔛

Once again, the show is 🔛 Today we are following the PhD defense in Pharmacy ⚕️ by Meixin Ran 🧑‍🎓 discussing her thesis with opponent, Prof. Twan Lammers from RWTH Aachen University Hospital 🏥 in Germany. Hongbo overseeing as custos 🎩 and mouth already watering from thinking of all the delicious food that awaits us at Aura Yangtze in case of a favourable outcome 🤤
