Work in progress: we are re-designing the Learning Planet Festival 💫

☝️ Since its launch in 2020, in partnership with UNESCO, our Learning Planet Festival has been organised each January to celebrate the International Day of Education. Over the years, it has grown into a global movement and shared space for dialogue and action, bringing together youth, educators, innovators, policymakers, researchers and changemakers to reimagine education and learn to take care of oneself, others and the planet.
🙌 The 2026 edition marked an important milestone. As the Festival’s 7th edition, it was our largest and most vibrant to date, with more than 800 events and over 500 partner organisations involved globally, reaching participants from more than 190 countries. All thanks to you!
💭 As the Festival has grown, we have also been reflecting on its purpose and future direction. We want to ensure that it continues to respond to the needs of our international community, while remaining relevant to the major conversations shaping the future of education.
🤗 In 2027, the Learning Planet Festival will continue in a more focused and curated format. Instead of launching an open decentralised call for events, the 2027 edition will be organised around selected online and in-person moments led by the Learning Planet Institute and co-designed with strategic partners.

Nouveau format en cours pour le Learning Planet Festival 💫
☝️ Depuis son lancement en 2020, en partenariat avec l’UNESCO, notre Learning Planet Festival célèbre chaque année la Journée internationale de l’éducation. Au fil des éditions, il s’est transformé en un mouvement mondial et en un espace commun de dialogue et d’action, rassemblant jeunes, éducateurs, innovateurs, décideurs politiques, chercheurs et acteurs du changement afin de repenser l’éducation et d’apprendre à prendre soin de soi, des autres et de la planète.
🙌 L’édition 2026 a marqué une étape importante. 7ème édition du Festival, elle a été la plus grande et la plus dynamique à ce jour avec plus de 800 événements et plus de 500 organisations partenaires impliquées à l’échelle mondiale, touchant des participants de plus de 190 pays. Et c'est grâce à vous !
💭 À mesure que le Festival a grandi, nous avons également mené une réflexion sur la manière dont il répond aux besoins de notre communauté internationale, tout en restant en phase avec les grands débats qui façonnent l’avenir de l’éducation.
🤗 En 2027 : pas d'appel à projets pour cette édition qui s’articulera autour de quelques événements, en ligne et en présentiel, animés par le Learning Planet Institute et conçus en collaboration avec des partenaires stratégiques.
