A workshop by Stefano Mendelek (ma3aber/معابر)

We will confront and compare, and try to decide: How has the past 3 years altered our relationship to imagery? Should we refuse to produce new imagery? Can we? Do we need to reinvent images or abolish them to allow a practice of political imaginary to emerge once again? The endless descriptions will culminate into multiple modes of dissemination down the line.

LIBERATORY FUTURES: LESSONS FROM THE PROTOPIAN PRIZE
With Suzette Brooks Masters and Ruthanna Emrys Gordon
REGISTER (LINK BELLOW)
The Protopian Prize for short stories has just wrapped up its first year, choosing winners among over 700 visions of people working toward liberatory futures, meeting obstacles, and making real change.
In this workshop we’ll share what we’ve learned, and stretch everyone’s imaginative muscles toward positive, reachable futures. How does change happen – and how can ordinary people push the world into new realities? Come with one “artifact from the future” – an idea, a tool, an image – and work with us to map the route from here to there.
