CONFLUENCE is the international architecture school in Paris, France. Founded in 2013, its mission is to foster innovation, creative strategies and autonomous designers in architecture. Based on a radical and alternative pedagogy CONFLUENCE allows students to address contemporary issues and face future challenges of cities. Its international network of renowned professors helps to develop its interdisciplinary curriculum. Through its five years program of Vertical Studios, Intensive workshops, Dedicated Seminars and Ex-Situ experiences, CONFLUENCE trains a new generation of innovative architectural entrepreneurs.

“I work with language as a material for architectural research.
I explore how it can produce relationships, spaces, and artifacts rather than simply describe them.
My process moves in two directions: from space to text, and from text back to space.
Through my own writing and the Odyssey, I examine how language organizes distances, orientations, repetitions, and bodies.
This diploma prejury therefore does not aim to produce a building, but a form of architectural research through language and space.”

Critical Lab took Confluence students to four sites this semester — Ivry-sur-Seine, Institut du Monde Arabe, Villa Savoye, and the Mémorial des Martyrs de la Déportation.
All connected by one theme: geometry.
