Accrington's own Julie Hesmondhalgh, honorary fellow of ELUC is the first ever winner of The Theatres Trust's lifetime achievement award.

From Hayley Cropper on Coronation Street to her Olivier Award-winning role in Punch, she always delivers unforgettable and powerful performances.

Off stage, she's fought for regional theatres so everyone can enjoy live performance, wherever they live and whatever their background.

As an Honorary Fellow of East Lancashire UC, Julie is part of our community - and we couldn't be prouder.

There's more to celebrate.

At our graduation next week, we'll present the Julie Hesmondhalgh Award to one of our graduands - for the learner who has made a difference beyond the classroom - to the university centre, local community, or their peers.

East Lancashire talent can go anywhere. Here's to Julie and to our graduands and the extraordinary future you deserve.

Spotted these new badges on any lanyards yet?

If you're studying an IoT course here, you're part of something bigger - the Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology

That gives you access to:

• Cross-college events to connect and learn beyond your classroom
• Invitation-only visits to partner universities and other IoTs
• Competitions to test your skills and stand out
• Exclusive opportunities you won't find anywhere else

Wear your magnetic IoT badge with pride. It marks you out as an Institute of Technology student because you've earned that place.

You should also be receiving some additional printed information and a presentation explaining all the advantages that studying an IoT course brings.

No badge yet? Pop by ELUC reception at Accrington and Rossendale College (ARC) and pick yours up.
