πŸŽ’πŸ“š **Everyone's going β€œback to school”… but home education doesn't have to look like school.** πŸ΄πŸ’™

September can bring a strange amount of pressure.

Suddenly social media is full of uniforms, new shoes, first-day photos and perfectly organised timetables…

…and if you're home educating, it can be easy to wonder whether you should be doing more too.

But one of the wonderful things about home education is that **learning doesn't have to look the same for every child.**

It can happen at the kitchen table.

It can happen at the yard.

It can happen through researching a question they suddenly *need* to know the answer to.

And for a horse-mad learner, it can happen through a subject they're already completely fascinated by. 🐎

At **Equine Distance Learning**, we're passionate about helping children and teenagers turn their love of horses into meaningful learning.

🐴 Horse knowledge & care
🩺 Horse health
🧠 Behaviour & psychology
πŸ₯• Nutrition
πŸ’† Equine massage
πŸ… BHS Challenge Awards
πŸ“š And lots more…

Our courses are **distance learning and flexible**, which means they can become part of *your* home-ed routine β€” whether that's a little every day, one dedicated horsey-learning morning each week, or simply working whenever your learner is motivated.

There are **no September deadlines** and no need to keep pace with anybody else.

Because this isn't about recreating a classroom at home.

It's about finding ways for **your child to learn that work for them.** πŸ’™

So if September has arrived and you're still looking for something to add to your home-ed plans, you're not too late.

πŸ’Œ Send us a message with your child's **age, horse experience and interests**, and we'll happily help you find a suitable place to start.

🐴 **No uniform required. Horse obsession very welcome.** πŸ’™

πŸ‚πŸ΄ **Tomorrow is September… but your home-ed plans don't have to be perfect.**

If you're heading into a new month still wondering what learning will look like for your child or teenager, that's absolutely okay. πŸ’™

You don't need a beautifully colour-coded timetable.

You don't need every subject planned for the next twelve months.

And you certainly don't have to recreate school at home.

Sometimes, a really good place to begin is simply asking:

**What do they LOVE learning about?**

For some children, the answer is very easy…

🐴 **HORSES!** 🐴

At **Equine Distance Learning**, we can help turn that passion into purposeful, structured learning that fits around your family.

Whether they're just beginning to learn about horse care, already spending hours at the yard, looking for recognised equestrian awards or starting to dream about a future career with horses, there's a pathway they can follow.

πŸ“š Flexible distance learning
🏑 Study from home
⏰ Work at their own pace
πŸ’¬ Tutor support when they need it
🐎 Genuine equestrian knowledge
πŸ… Awards and qualifications available on selected pathways
🌱 Opportunities to build confidence and independence

And there's **no September enrolment deadline**.

They can start when they're ready and progress at a pace that works for them.

So if tomorrow arrives and you're still thinking…

**β€œI just want to find something they'll actually be excited to learn about…”**

…we'd love to help. πŸ’™

πŸ’Œ Send us a message with your child's **age, horse experience and interests**, and we'll suggest some suitable options.

Here's to a September filled with curiosity, confidence and plenty of horses. πŸ΄πŸ‚πŸ“š

πŸ΄πŸ’™ **There isn't just one type of home-ed learner at Equine Distance Learning…**

Some join us because they simply **love horses** and finally want to study a subject that makes them excited to learn.

Some already spend every spare minute at the yard and want to turn all that practical experience into **structured equestrian knowledge**.

Some find traditional learning difficult, but give them a workbook about horses and suddenly there's a reason to read, research and find the answer. πŸ“šπŸŽ

Others are teenagers beginning to think…

πŸ’ *β€œCould I actually work with horses one day?”*

And some families are simply looking for something **positive, purposeful and flexible** to add to their home-ed week.

That's one of the things we love most about distance learning. πŸ’™

There doesn't have to be one particular type of learner or one particular way of learning.

They can work at their own pace.
They can fit their studies around riding, yard time and family life.
They can ask for help when they need it.
And, most importantly, they can learn about something that genuinely matters to them. 🐴

With September just around the corner, you might still be wondering what your home-ed year is going to look like.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

Sometimes you just need to find **one thing that makes them WANT to learn.** 🌱

And if that thing happens to be horses, we might be able to help.

πŸ’Œ Send us a message with your child's **age, horse experience and interests**, and we'll happily suggest some suitable options.

πŸ΄πŸ’ **β€œI want to work with horses when I’m older…”**

If you've heard those words from your teenager more than once, perhaps this September is the time to start exploring what that could actually look like. πŸ’™

For a horse-mad young person, an equestrian career can feel like a distant dream β€” but building their **knowledge, skills and understanding** now can give them a really useful foundation for the future.

At **Equine Distance Learning**, we work with home-educated teenagers who have all sorts of ambitions.

They might dream of becoming a…

🐎 Riding instructor or coach
🩺 Equine veterinary professional
πŸ’† Equine therapist
πŸ‡ Groom or yard manager
πŸ₯• Equine nutrition professional
🧠 Equine behaviour specialist
πŸ… Or they may simply know that they want **horses to be part of their future**.

They don't need to have their career mapped out at 14, 15 or 16.

But they *can* start building their equestrian knowledge now. 🌱

Depending on their existing experience, learners can work through our **Horse Knowledge & Care Awards**, explore specialist subjects such as **equine behaviour, nutrition and massage**, or begin working towards **BHS-recognised learning** through the BHS Challenge Awards.

And because it's distance learning, it can fit around riding, volunteering, yard experience, other home-ed studies and family life. 🏑🐴

For teenagers who struggle to connect with traditional subjects, having something that's directly related to a future they can imagine for themselves can be incredibly motivating.

πŸ‚πŸ“š **September is nearly here… how is your home-ed planning going?**

If the answer is **β€œwe're still figuring it out!”** β€” you're definitely not alone. πŸ’™

At this point in August, lots of home educating families are thinking about what they'd like the next few months to look like.

What worked last term?
What didn't?
What does your child actually *want* to learn about?
And how can you create learning that works around your family rather than trying to squeeze your family around learning?

For a horse-mad child or teenager, their love of horses can be a wonderful place to start. 🐴

At **Equine Distance Learning**, our courses are designed to be flexible, so there isn't a set school timetable to keep up with.

Learners can:

🏑 Study from home
⏰ Work at their own pace
🐴 Learn about a subject they genuinely love
πŸ’¬ Access tutor support
πŸ“š Develop real equestrian knowledge
🌱 Build confidence and independent learning skills
πŸ… Work towards awards and qualifications on selected pathways

Whether they're just beginning their horsey learning journey, already experienced around horses, or starting to think about a future equestrian career, there are different routes they can take.

And **September doesn't have to mean having everything sorted by day one.**

You can start when you're ready. πŸ’™

So if you're currently looking at your September plans thinking…

**β€œI'd really like to find something they'll actually WANT to do…”**

…send us a message. 🐴

πŸ…πŸ΄ **Looking for recognised equestrian learning for your home-educated child or teenager?**

If they already have some experience with horses and you're looking for something a little more structured to add to their home-ed programme this September, the **BHS Challenge Awards** could be a fantastic next step. πŸ’™

Available through **Equine Distance Learning**, the Challenge Awards allow learners to develop their equestrian knowledge while working towards awards from the **British Horse Society**.

Our distance-learning options include:

🐴 **Horse Knowledge Part One**
🐴 **Horse Knowledge Part Two**
🩺 **Horse Health**
πŸ… **Silver Challenge Award – Knowing Your Horse**

They're a lovely option for learners who want to take their horse knowledge further β€” whether horses are simply something they love or they're beginning to think about a **future in the equestrian industry**.

And because the learning is flexible, it can fit around your family's home-ed timetable rather than the other way around. 🏑

For some young people, having an interest they genuinely care about can make all the difference to how they feel about learning.

And when that interest happens to be horses… we're very happy to help! πŸ΄πŸ’™

🐴🌱 **Looking for a horsey home-ed course to start this September?**

If your child loves horses but isn't quite ready for more advanced study, our **Entry Level Award in Horse Knowledge & Care** can be a brilliant place to begin. πŸ’™

Designed to introduce learners to the fundamentals of horse knowledge and care, it gives them something structured to work towards while still allowing them to learn **flexibly, at their own pace and from home**.

It's particularly suited to younger learners, those newer to horse care, or children who may have plenty of enthusiasm but aren't yet ready for our higher-level courses.

And they **don't need to own a horse** to take part. 🐎

Through their studies, learners can begin developing their understanding of horses while also practising skills that transfer far beyond the equestrian world:

πŸ“š Independent learning
πŸ”Ž Research and finding information
✍️ Completing structured work
🌱 Responsibility
πŸ’™ Confidence in their own knowledge

For some learners, Entry Level is a lovely standalone achievement.

For others, it's just the beginning…

🐴 **Entry Level**
⬇️
🐴 **Level One**
⬇️
🐴 **Level Two**

…and from there, there are further opportunities to continue developing their equestrian knowledge.

So if you're currently looking at your **September home-ed plans** and wondering whether you could incorporate your child's love of horses into their learning, we'd love to hear from you.

πŸ’Œ Message us with your child's **age and horse experience**, and we'll happily let you know whether Entry Level would be a suitable starting point.

Because learning feels very different when the subject is something they can't wait to learn about. πŸ΄πŸ’™

πŸ΄πŸ“š **β€œMy child loves horses… but I have no idea which course to start with!”**

We hear this a lot from home educating parents β€” and it's completely understandable. πŸ’™

Every learner who comes to **Equine Distance Learning** is different.

Some are pony-mad but have very little practical experience.
Some have been riding for years and already know an enormous amount.
Some want horses to simply be an enjoyable part of their home education.
And others are teenagers beginning to think seriously about an **equestrian career**. 🐎

So where do you start?

🌱 **Newer or younger learners**
Our **Entry Level Award in Horse Knowledge & Care** can provide a lovely introduction to structured equestrian learning and help build confidence and knowledge.

πŸ“š **Ready to develop their knowledge further?**
Our **Level One and Level Two Horse Knowledge & Care Awards** allow learners to progress and explore horse care in greater depth.

πŸ… **Already experienced around horses?**
Our **BHS Challenge Awards** can be a fantastic option, particularly for learners who would like to work towards BHS-recognised learning and potentially progress towards the BHS Stages in the future.

🐴 **Have a particular passion?**
We also have courses covering subjects including **horse behaviour, nutrition, massage, psychology and more**.

The important thing is that there's no single starting point that's right for every child.

That's why we're always happy to have a chat before you enrol. πŸ’™

If you're planning your **September home-ed learning**, send us a message with:

🐎 Your child's age
🐎 Their riding/horse-care experience
🐎 Whether they have regular access to horses
🐎 What they're particularly interested in
🐎 Whether they're learning for enjoyment or thinking about an equestrian career

…and we'll help you work out the most appropriate place to start.

🐴 **Home-ed parents β€” if your child could choose ONE horsey subject to learn about this September, what would it be?** πŸ’™

Would they choose…

🐎 Horse care & management
🧠 Horse behaviour & psychology
πŸ₯• Equine nutrition
🩺 Horse health
πŸ‡ Riding & training theory
πŸ… Working towards BHS awards
πŸ’† Equine massage
🌟 Or something completely different?

One of the lovely things about home education is having the freedom to follow those sparks of interest and turn them into meaningful learning. πŸ“šπŸ΄

And we've found that when a young person is learning about something they **genuinely love**, you can often see so much more than subject knowledge developing.

Confidence.
Independence.
Research skills.
Responsibility.
Motivation. πŸ’™

So we'd love to know…

πŸ‘‡ **What would YOUR horse-mad learner choose?**

Pop their **age + their chosen horsey subject** in the comments!

And if you're not sure where they would fit within our courses, you're very welcome to comment **β€œHELP”** or send us a message and we'll happily point you towards some suitable options for September. πŸ΄πŸ“š

πŸ΄πŸ’™ **When a child is passionate about something, learning can feel completely different.**

For many home educated children and teenagers, horses aren't *just* a hobby.

They're a reason to ask questions.
A reason to read and research.
A reason to problem solve.
A reason to take responsibility.
And sometimes, the beginning of an idea about what they'd love to do in the future. 🌱🐴

That's why equestrian learning can fit so beautifully into home education.

At **Equine Distance Learning**, our learners can take something they already love and use it to develop genuine knowledge, confidence and independent learning skills β€” all while working flexibly from home and at their own pace.

We have options for a wide range of ages and experience levels, from those taking their first steps into structured horse care learning through to experienced young equestrians looking towards **BHS pathways or a future career with horses**. πŸ…

And importantly, you don't necessarily need to own a horse to get started.

If you're beginning to plan your **September home-ed timetable**, we'd love to help.

πŸ’Œ Send us a message with your child's **age, horse experience and interests**, and we'll recommend the most suitable place to start.

Sometimes the best learning starts with something they already love. πŸ’™πŸ΄
