Our aim is to educate, help and support all horse lovers and owners to promote horse welfare. We offer a wide range of courses from general horse care and management to specialist subjects such as equine massage. We also offer BHS accredited courses, including the Challenge Awards in Horse Knowledge and Horse Health. We have students enrolled with us from all over the world and we work with a lot

of home educated children too. We have courses to suit all levels - from novice to experienced riders and people wishing to pursue a career, or working in, the equine industry. One of the things I love most about working with home educated learners is seeing just how many life skills horses can help develop 💙

When a child is passionate about horses, learning often feels much more natural and engaging.

Horses can help children develop:

📚 Reading through research, care guides and horse health information

➕ Maths through feed calculations, measurements and budgeting

🧠 Critical thinking through problem solving and understanding behaviour

💬 Communication through working with instructors, yard owners and other equestrians

🐴 One of the biggest lessons horses teach us...

You don't need to know everything.

You just need to keep learning.

Most horse owners can look back and think of things they wish they'd known sooner.

A feeding mistake.
A behaviour they misunderstood.
A health issue they didn't spot straight away.
A piece of advice they later discovered wasn't quite right.

Not because they didn't care.

But because horses are one of those subjects where there's always more to learn.

The good news?

Every new thing you learn gives you another tool to help your horse.

Whether that's understanding behaviour, recognising health issues sooner, improving management or simply feeling more confident in your decisions.

With the recent warm weather, sunshine and grass growth, many horse owners are starting to think about laminitis again.

One of the challenges with laminitis is that the early signs can be easy to miss, especially when a horse seems bright and happy in themselves.

Some signs to be aware of include:

🐴 Reluctance to move or turn
🐴 A shortened or pottery stride
🐴 Increased digital pulses
🐴 Warm feet
🐴 Weight shifting between feet
🐴 Standing with the front feet stretched out in front

Not because we're not trying.
