Attention All students,

As you'll have seen with the news from the Scottish Government and the MET Office, the recommendation is for us to stay indoors due to the red weather warning. The University has followed these guidelines and as such, all campuses are now closed tomorrow (Friday 24th). Please do not travel to campus as room bookings and equipment bookings are now cancelled for the day. All three of us are on our emails tomorrow for any queries and are hoping (weather permitting) to be back on Monday.

Unpaid Gig Filming in Edinburgh BUT…I will give you a favour or two in kind… and give you some kit if you need it.

I was going to be filming a gig as a favour to a friend and colleague of mine at The Wee Red Bar in Edinburgh tomorrow night at 9pm. It’s 80’s legends Autumn 1904.

Give me a shout if you can do that and help us out.

I have sorted through bookings as best I can for the day and planned them all out but might not be able to offer much support beyond that in the afternoon.

An addition to the kit/studio booking process:

We will need a description of the filming/studio activity alongside your booking request.

We highly encourage and endorse extra-curricular activity but at this time, and for the next few weeks, we can't support anything other than module and classroom activity.

Hello to all students and graduates that still follow us. I have copied below an excerpt from an email sent us staff from our Principal this afternoon and would like to add that if any of our students have concerns regarding recent events, or anything else - we are always happy to hear you. Our team is usually present on campus during working hours, or available via email and here.

“Students can access information and book appointments with support teams via the Student Hub. The team can be reached by phone or WhatsApp chat via 0141 848 3998. For out-of-hours support students can access a confidential helpline by calling 0800 028 3766.

Should you witness or be subjected to any type of discriminatory behaviour, I would urge you to report it via Report and Support. Reports can be made anonymously, or you can provide your details to get support from a UWS adviser.

We are aware of media reports for potential of a local protest and counter-protest in the Paisley area on evening of Friday 9 August. Please look out for any warnings from the emergency services and remain safe.

*ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS*

First of all - congratulations to all of you who have submitted your work and good luck to those still in the process of submitting. It's been a bit of a year systems wise so I appreciate everyone's efforts.

The kit store will close as of Friday 3rd of May at 3pm. This is the last day of delivery for T2 and it will give us time to reset for T3 delivery for the MA and for students having to re-sit.

*ALL OUTSTANDING EQUIPMENT MUST BE RETURNED BY MAY 3RD BY 3PM. IF YOU HAVE HAD EQUIPMENT ON A LONG TERM LOAN, IT MUST BE RETURNED BY THIS DATE. THIS APPLIES TO UNDERGRAD STUDENTS ONLY.*

For the summer - I have had a lot of requests from students about studio and kit bookings over the summer, we have decided that the kit store will *NOT* be open to anyone outside of a MA project or a re-sit. We have a lot of movement this summer with existing MA projects and other postgraduate work that requires full support of the stores resources and the team. Work on campus and external work is taking the store team out of our usual roles also. On top of this - we are hoping to get the kit store website back up and running, this is a very information dense website and will require time to sort out for T1 delivery in September.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this message, we're purely aiming to focus our support on those who fully need it in T3.

🎥 FILMING LOCATION NEEDED! 🎥

Hi folks,

We’re prepping my next short film - WOOOOOOP! This one is a love story and a deeply personal one at that...

We need flat/house!

But not only do we need a flat/house, we need a flat/house that is either in a state of pre-decorating (renovating), or a space where we can strip the wallpaper and do some light plastering and a spot of painting.

You see, the couple in the film are decorating their living room.

So if you have, or if you know of anyone who is decorating their place or know of a place that is on a perpetual state of pre-decorating, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE hit me up!
