The Denroy Group is proud to announce its sponsorship of Hugh Dalzell, the latest golf prodigy to emerge from Northern Ireland’s thriving grassroots talent pool. This support will help Hugh compete in global tournaments and continue his journey toward becoming one of the sport’s leading figures✨

Hugh’s exceptional talent and dedication mirror Northern Ireland’s proud tradition of producing world-class golfers, following in the footsteps of champions like Rory McIlroy. Denroy is committed to investing in future generations and sees Hugh’s rise as a shining example of local potential with international promise🌍

The sponsorship is especially meaningful given Denroy’s own historic link to the sport. The Group’s first products included the No1 and No3 golf club “wood” heads, precision-moulded in ABS for Spalding in Monkstown, Co. Antrim. These early innovations helped set the foundation for Denroy’s legacy in advanced plastics manufacturing; a tradition of quality and performance that continues to this day.

As part of the sponsorship Denman Brush's Jack Dean brand will feature proudly on Hugh’s shirts throughout the season. The Jack Dean range includes a selection of premium brushes designed specifically for men’s hair goals. Whether it’s tournament day or press day, Denman ensures Hugh’s hair is always on point 😌

“This partnership with Hugh is a natural fit,” said Dr John Rainey Chairman of the Denroy Group. “Just as our company’s journey started with golf, we’re thrilled to support a young athlete at the beginning of his own remarkable path in the sport.”

A finished version of the original Denroy-made golf club remains on display in the Denroy Group boardroom, a lasting symbol of innovation, ambition, and local pride.

As Hugh steps onto the world stage, the Denroy Group are honoured to walk beside him, backing Northern Irish talent where it matters most🏌

On International Women’s Day we shine a light on all the achievements of women in plastics and look to a future with access for women and equality. Denroy recognises how important women are in engineering and the world of plastics and are proud to have many women working for them in different departments! 🌟

Throughout history women have been overlooked and their contributions erased. Many female scientists and researchers have made outstanding discoveries and contributions that male colleagues and supervisors have gone on to receive Nobel prizes for.

Celebrating apprenticeship excellence & innovation at Denroy!💡

This week, Dr John Rainey Denroy Chairman had the privilege of attending an inspiring event organised by ADS Group Ltd ahead of National Apprenticeship Week (10th-16th February). Organised at short notice, the event brought together apprentices, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to highlight the importance of apprenticeship pathways in shaping the future workforce.

It was fantastic to see Sir Michael Ryan CBE FREng FRAeS CEng, who himself started his journey as an apprentice, alongside Steve Aiken and other politicians, showing their support for this vital career route.

A special mention goes to our three outstanding apprentices, who actively engaged in discussions and shared their experiences. It was also an honour to connect with apprentices from Thales, Moyola Precision Engineering, and Belfast Metropolitan College, reinforcing the significance of hands-on training in industries like aerospace and engineering.

Denroy is proud to have pioneered Northern Ireland’s first mature apprenticeship in toolmaking, demonstrating that career development and learning are lifelong opportunities. Apprenticeships are not just about early career pathways but also about reinventing careers and fostering innovation.

Another exciting highlight was Build A Plane, a project that continues to inspire the next generation of engineers and aviation professionals. Seeing young apprentices and students engage with this initiative, while also interacting with experienced professionals, reaffirmed the importance of practical learning and industry collaboration. Build A Plane is a testament to what can be achieved when education and industry come together to create real-world opportunities. ✈️

A big thank you to everyone who attended, including dignitaries and supporters who are committed to growing these opportunities further. Let’s continue championing apprenticeships and hands-on learning as a critical part of skills development and industry growth!

Last year Denroy were conducting final trials on their new Denman automatic packaging machine. Some of the samples produced were donated to Movilla House Nursing Home.

A few new residents have since arrived at the home and an old friend of Dr John Rainey asked for some more brushes, but these were no ordinary brushes. Using a new printing process they were decorated with images of Belfast by local artist James Baker 🎨

About 20 years ago James won our Make-a-Wish child. While others were flying off to Disneyland, James wish was to stay in a hotel in Belfast. On questioning further, we discovered he liked the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey team and his teacher thought he was good at painting. So, hotel in Belfast, tickets for the ice hockey and painting lessons by two of Northern Ireland’s famous artists, Neil Shawcross and Les Jones.

The Giants have taken James under their wing and he has become an accomplished artist. Ask for little and see what you get. James is now in his thirties and should be a great inspiration to us all ❤️
