Hi all!
We're happy to announce an upcoming talk, in collaboration with BEAMES and Women's Engineering Society, by DSTL, the science and cyber development labratory of the MoD! Attendees will receive a presentation on the career opportunities available to students of all year groups at DSTL as well as a chance to ask questions. This will be followed by a ‘Disaster relief’ workshop where students will be split into groups to work on and come up with solutions to specific problems, present their solution to an audience and understand how their role fits into the wider context.
The aim of the event is to provide students with a fantastic opportunity to hone important competencies vital in the workplace and for demonstrating in interviews. These are team-working, delivering solutions at pace, critical thinking, effective communication, presenting, understanding how a task may fit into a wider goal, time management and effective decision making. Additionally, the event will provide you with insight into the opportunities available both at DSTL and the wider Defence community while undertaking a group activity designed to enhance ‘soft skill’ competencies.
This is an amazing opportunity if you're at all interested in cyber or the defence industry. The event will take place on Monday 8th April at 18:15 in CB 3.9.
