The National Association for Environmental Education started in 1960 as the Rural Studies Association, since then the Association has been instrumental in the formation and establishment of many environmental groups and organisations, most notably the Council for Environmental Education (CEE), which is now Sustainable and Environmental Education (SE-Ed)
Run almost entirely by volunteers, NAEE sup
ports and promotes environmental education (EE), providing advice and practical ways of delivering EE via the curriculum to teachers. NAEE also shares good practice through the production of the termly journal Environmental Education. We promote the need for and the relevance of EE, as well as children's right to it, with an aim to reignite the environmental spark in the curriculum. By better understanding of their local environment, children gain a sense of place and identity and can develop an awareness of why living sustainably is important - EE is at the heart of this
Visit our website - www.naee.org.uk - or our blog - www.naeeuk.wordpress.com - for access to relevant information and resources across all areas of EE as well as news on upcoming events and recent developments in the field. By becoming a member of NAEE, you will receive 'Environmental Education' free of charge and be a part of a national network of environmental educators.
