Inspired by Abeona, the Roman goddess of journeys and protection, Bath College alumna Ellie’s final-year UAL Fashion & Textiles project is a captivating exploration of craftsmanship, storytelling, and heritage, bringing mythology to life through thoughtful design and creative innovation.
Challenging herself to work with both metal and leather, Ellie designed and created a copper belt, decorative neckpiece, and hand-braided leather armbands. The copper elements were carefully cut, shaped, and drilled by hand, while screen-printed laurel leaves and intricate embroidery added layers of detail and symbolism. Rich purple tones were chosen to reflect the status and significance of the character that inspired the collection.
Photographed at the iconic Roman Baths, Ellie’s work beautifully connects Bath’s rich history with the creativity and talent developed at Bath College.
A fantastic example of how our students bring ambitious ideas to life through design, craftsmanship, and innovation.
