TurfTrax Ltd

TurfTrax Ltd TurfTrax is a world leading, technologically advanced company focused on improving standards and on providing data to enhance sporting events.

In November 2000, the UK Horseracing Regulator (BHA) asked TurfTrax to create a device for the systematic and objective assessment of going conditions on British racecourses. The Regulator’s approach to TurfTrax followed a10 year search for an appropriate solution and recognised the company’s specific expertise in soil physics/sports turf management. TurfTrax worked closely with some of the UK’s l

eading soil scientists and in collaboration with Cranfield University produced a device known as the GoingStick. After design and extensive testing in the controlled environment of Cranfield’s unique soil laboratory facilities, live on-course trials started in late 2001. In 2009, under the British Horseracing Authority rules of racing, all UK turf racecourses are required to issue GoingStick readings on every raceday.
