Our campus has its roots as a former RAF site and has grown and evolved over the years, with RAF buildings sitting alongside newer facilities. Which might explain why our building numbers can seem a little… unexpected!
As you continue to settle in, there’s a lot to discover. Here’s a tour of some of our campus buildings and a few of the unofficial names we’ve given them along the way:
The library – the heart of campus and your go-to place for studying, resources and support from our library team 📚
Vincent – once an aircraft hangar and sports hall, now home to study spaces, meeting areas and our environment, agrifood and water labs 🥼
Building 83 – home to a flight simulator, wind tunnels and drone testing facilities. The one with the “wing bit.”
IMEC – our Intelligent Mobility Engineering Centre, with teaching spaces, laboratories and workshops. You know, the blue one with the racing car 🏎️
AIRC – home to cutting-edge aerospace research and development. The yellow one… or IKEA...
DARTeC – our Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre, focused on the future of digital aviation. The one with the plane!
CSA – home to the Cranfield Students’ Association, with spaces to socialise, eat, drink and get involved in student life
Stafford Cripps – a key student space for meeting others, grabbing a drink or finding somewhere to study
Building 45 – your hub for student support, including careers, wellbeing, disability and student advice services
Mitchell Hall – home to our accommodation team. But most importantly… REGGIES!
Cranfield School of Management – our business school with dedicated teaching, study and social spaces for our management students
