๐ŸŒฟ Making a Difference in the Community

Bedford College Brickwork students have been putting their skills into practice to support a fantastic local cause.

As part of a hands-on community project, our T Level Brickwork students worked alongside their tutors to design and build raised flower beds at the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire MS Therapy Centre.

The project has helped transform the outdoor space into a more welcoming and accessible environment for individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsonโ€™s, a brilliant example of learning making a real impact.

Well done to everyone involved ๐Ÿ‘

Buzzstock Music Festival Partners with The Bedford College Group to Deliver Real World Creative Experience for Students.

Local music festival Buzzstock has teamed up with The Bedford College Group, working with departments across Central Bedfordshire College in Dunstable and Bedford College campuses, to offer students hands-on, real world work experience as part of their curriculum. Students will be involved in designing art installations, producing videos, creating music tracks, posters and other creative content, as well as taking part in an exclusive Buzzstock T-shirt design competition.

Rachel Roberts, Partnership Manager at The Bedford College group who works closely with businesses said "Initiatives like Buzzstock create meaningful, real-world opportunities that enrich students' learning experiences and help them apply their skills in real industry settings. We are delighted with the range of experience they will gain through this engagement."

Andrena from Buzzstock said โ€œThis is an exciting project. We have wanted to get students involved in Buzzstock for a while and meeting Rachel has been the catalyst to make it all happen. We really can't wait to see what the students produce and how their creativity and fresh perspective will bring a whole new dimension to Buzzstock.โ€

Buzzstock Music Festival 2026 takes place on the 17th and 18th July 2026 to coincide with the end of the school term. It is located between Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard.

Now in its 5th year it offers a range of entertainment from tribute acts and bands, including local artists, and a range of family friendly entertainment as well as camping and artisan food and stalls.

Murder Mystery Mayhem! ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

Our T Level Health Year 1 students took a well-earned break from exam revision in Personal Development with a twistโ€ฆ becoming detectives for the day! ๐Ÿ”

Working in teams, they put their skills to the test to solve a murder mystery, using communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and even code-breaking to uncover the clues.
It was fantastic to see them analysing information, collaborating so effectively, and fully immersing themselves in the challenge.

Great detective work all round ๐Ÿ‘

Real-World Learning Making a Real Difference ๐Ÿ’ผ

We were delighted to welcome Hayley Brown back to Bedford College to review the outcomes of a recent project set for our BTEC Business students ๐Ÿ‘

As part of the project, students developed digital marketing campaigns to raise awareness of exploitation and support the important work of Link to Change.

๐ŸŒฟ Inspiring Learning in Action ๐ŸŒฟ

Our Level 3 Year 2 Health & Social Care students recently combined their Mental Health and Complementary Therapies units for a truly enriching experience!

They had the fantastic opportunity to visit a care home, where they spoke with experts, saw therapies in action, and explored the incredible ways staff support residentsโ€™ mental health and wellbeing. ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ’š

A real highlight of the day was when our students were trusted to lead a coffee morning with residents โ˜•
