Today, our Year 2 students had briefings with Principal Rob Myatt about the benefits and risks of AI, and why it’s important to think independently when completing their College work. 💭

During the sessions, Rob used a psychology experiment to demonstrate how deeper thinking supports learning. Students answered yes or no questions about a list of words, with some questions requiring more thought than others, before testing which words they could remember.

Most students recalled more of the words that had required deeper thinking, highlighting a simple message: engaging fully with your work and thinking for yourself can make a real difference to learning and revision. 🧠

Two exciting opportunities for our first year students! 🎓✨

Yesterday evening, we welcomed students and their parents/carers to College for the launch of University of Liverpool Scholars and the Aspiring Professionals Programme.

Both programmes offer eligible students academic and careers mentoring to help strengthen their university and apprenticeship applications next year. 📚💼

Lydia and Luke explained the eligibility criteria and answered questions during a Q&A session.

Applications are now open for both programmes, with support available from the College Careers team! 🙌
