BA Applied Theatre (Community and Education) presents:
Others Build Windmills...

When the winds of change blow, some people build walls…

The wall wasn’t built overnight. It took time, the telling of tales, the spreading of rumours and the spinning of rhetoric. Inevitably, the people became divided, a line was drawn, and then a vote was called. To keep the peace, the people voted for a border of solid concrete. But now, the wall cuts through streets and homes, and has displaced and fractured families. Now, these families exist either side of a divide that is cemented by propaganda, prejudice and poverty, and of course they want change. And all walls collapse, eventually. It’s only a matter of time.

An original piece of ‘theatre for our times’, devised and performed by first year BA Applied Theatre students, Others Build Windmills draws on the revolutionary spirit of epic theatre to tell this contemporary story of patterns in history, of putting up barriers, and of the timeless human need to pull them down.
