Birmingham Made Me An annual campaign to highlight and inspire the skills, innovation and creativity that drives the UK's premier manufacturing region

Birmingham Made Me is the Midland’s most important annual celebration of the design-led manufacturing capabilities and achievements originating in the region. Birmingham, the UK’s biggest regional city, plays host to an eight-month long programme of activities and interactive events aimed at young people and those interested in the the region’s world-famous skills in innovation, design, invention

and manufacturing. Lead by Birmingham City University and the Idea Birmingham team, Birmingham Made Me provides a Schools Programme from February 2014 that leads into the region’s most important Jobs Fair in May. At the heart of Birmingham Made Me is the acclaimed Design EXPO in November which spans the city and highlights the centres of excellence and achievements. The event gathers world-class businesses, speakers and thought leaders from the automotive, engineering, design, fashion, construction, digital and new media industries. A combination of events, demonstrations, performances and displays, the Expo showcases the region’s innovations and successes with an emphasis on region’s skills and its emerging talent. Delighted to read this press release below promoting the efforts of women across the UK and in particular in the West Midlands. Thank you to all involved in Women's Economic Forum for proposing my own name as part of this hugely distinguished list - this is a greatly unexpected development - I am very honoured indeed. Birmingham and West Midlands Women Economic Forum (WEF) – All Ladies League starts with a Bang with a conference on 20 and 21 June 2018 the Theme of the conference is “Enhancing Women’s Economic Power”. Dr Julie Nugent – Director at the West Midlands Combined Authority, will open the conference.

Birmingham and West Midlands WEF will be a powerhouse for change, there will be mega peer exchange and learning with diverse women from across the globe within an interdisciplinary framework.

This is an opportunity for Birmingham and the West Midlands to show case the diversity and innovation and rich culture of the City and the region; underpinned with local women making massive connections and networking with other women across the globe.
