What a start to Welcome Week! We are absolutely buzzing to see campus full of life and students again after a quiet summer.

Today we host the Aston Students' Union Clubs and Societies fair with over 150 stands. Joint and club or society is one of the most rewarding things you can do as a new student, a great way to make friends and build communities during your time at Aston.

Week one of a placement year, in Varsha’s own words.

Varsha is an Economics and Management student, starting her placement year at in Leeds.

Her week started with induction at the Hilton in Kingston, meeting the other placement students before onboarding onto her projects and working through team calls. Day two was her birthday, so she brought cake in for the team while building a picture of the work ahead.

Wednesday was a work from home day, Thursday brought her first big task on the project (plus a visit to the team snack drawer), and Friday she had a near empty office to crack on with her customer innovation role.

She finishes with a tour of the Leeds office. If you’re heading out on placement soon, this is roughly what your first five days look like.
