🎭🍫 'Theatre at the Cadbury's Chocolate Factory'
a talk by Prof. Catherine Hindson (University of Bristol )
🗓️ Wednesday 24th May, 5.15pm
📍 Arts Building, room 103

A symbol of Britain's industrial heyday, Bournville's Cadbury's factory offered recreational and educational schemes that included and astonishing amount of theatre. Focusing on outdoor performances staged at the factory between 1908 and 1914 - including the masques written by Birmingham playwright/ poet/ producer/ actor John Drinkwater - this talk will position theatre at the heart of understanding Cadbury's in the early 20th century and explore the importance of the arts and creativity to the firm's ethos, day-to-day organisation, and success.

This talk will be given by Prof. Catherine Hindson (University of Bristol) sharing insights from her new publication.
Co-organised with 19th Century Centre Birmingham ( on Twitter).
