🎉 Celebrating a very special A-level Results Day at University College Birmingham!
Today marks an important milestone as we celebrate the very first cohort of A-level students to complete their studies since our sixth form opened two years ago.
From the outset, we wanted to create a sixth form where students from different backgrounds, schools and communities would feel welcome, supported and encouraged to aim high. Today is a celebration of those students, their individual journeys and the ambitious, inclusive community they have helped us to build.
We are delighted to see so many progressing to their first choice universities and taking exciting next steps.
One of those students is Mohammed Basaad, who is heading to the University of Cambridge to study Computer Science after achieving two A*s and an A. A fantastic achievement. Congratulations, Mohammed! 👏
Rebecca Tigue, Sixth Form Principal, said: “Our first cohort have played an important part in shaping the supportive and ambitious community we have today. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and excited to see them taking their next steps.”
We’re also celebrating the achievements of students across our wider further education college, including those completing T-levels and other vocational qualifications and progressing to university, apprenticeships and employment.
Congratulations to all our students, staff and everyone who has supported them along the way. We are incredibly proud of the culture we are building at UCB – one where every student is encouraged to believe in what they can achieve. 💫
