The report is full of praise for the college, its students, staff and governors. The inspectors said that, ‘Students find the college a truly aspirational place to learn’ and praised the ‘calm, professional and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and can flourish.’

Swipe through to unlock the five key habits that make a massive difference to your grades.

Show up: Attendance is everything. A student with 90% attendance typically achieves 1 grade lower than someone with 100%, and 80% attendance drops you by 2 grades. Imagine watching a TV series and skipping every 10th or 5th episode -you’d completely lose the plot! Even slight drops in attendance lead to significant drops in performance.

Speak up: Students who actively participate in class discussions perform much better. Joining the conversation forces you to think harder, helping you understand the content deeply and remember it longer.

Put in the hours: The secret to progress is independent study. Aim for 5 hours of homework per subject each week.

Challenge your brain: When it comes to revision, take the harder path. Choosing more challenging revision activities makes your brain work harder, which directly leads to better results.

Embrace failure: Don't be afraid to get it wrong! The best athletes fail more because they attempt the most difficult things. Treat failure as a catalyst for learning- it turns mistakes into the direct feedback you need to guide your progress.

What an action-packed first day of induction!

The Freshers' Fair was just one part of a busy day for the first half of our new Lower Sixth. Alongside exploring the fair, students collected their ID cards, enjoyed a talk from our Principal, and got logged into the college systems ready for the year ahead.
