It’s Bolton B**r Festival this month! Book your ticket and help to support We are BLGC

The popular annual Bolton B**r Festival will take place from 15-17 October.

The festival, to be held at the Premier Suite in Bolton Wanderers’ Toughsheet Stadium, will feature more than 200 craft beers and spirits.

There will be live music on the Friday and Saturday evenings and all the money raised will go to support the work of Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

The club, based in Spa Road, is the oldest open-access youth club in the country and its mission is to help young people live happier, healthier lives by giving them a safe place to go and someone real to talk to when they need it most.

The University of Greater Manchester supports the work of the club and is one of its patrons.

What an incredible achievement! 💙

Five teams from across the University took part in the Bolton Hospice £50 Challenge this summer, raising an amazing £6,696 for a fantastic local cause!

The teams from Marketing, Recruitment & Admissions, HR, Sports Centre, QTU and Foundation Programmes made the University the second highest fundraising business in this year’s challenge.

We were also delighted to receive the ‘Most Adventures’ award, recognising the adventurous spirit of our colleagues! 🏆

A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part, donated, volunteered, organised events and helped spread the word. Together, we’ve shown what can be achieved when we come together for our local community.

You may be eligible if you were born on or after 21 July 2001 and are starting an undergraduate course for the first time this autumn. Two doses are needed, at least four weeks apart, so make sure you attend both sessions!

Professor Celestine Iwendi, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Greater Manchester and Head of the Centre of Intelligence of Things (CloTh), argues that AI is already transforming society and that the UK risks falling behind if it fails to embrace the technology.
