During Chance's first year of studying Adult Nursing, she completed a six-week placement, including 12-and-a-half hour shifts, on Airedale General Hospital's female surgical ward.

She said: "I have really enjoyed my first year at Bradford. I really enjoyed the placements. They have helped made it all real.

"This time last year, I went through Clearing while I was on holiday. Clearing was a quick and easy process. Once I decided to do it, it was really easy. I wanted to come to Bradford to study."

Places are available for nursing programmes at the University of Bradford, particularly on the Adult Nursing and Mental Health Nursing programmes, and MNurse routes which allow students to be dual qualified, through Clearing for this September.

Children and young people discovered our research through play at a free event in Peel Park last week.

Child's Play: Discovery Playground, organised by our researchers with Play Bradford and Bradford Council's Holiday Activity and Food programme, encouraged children to be active, healthy and happy while spending more time outdoors.

Youngsters aged between five and 14 could build and race toy cars, design positive pebbles, get messy in a mud kitchen and join in with the ‘Wonky Olympics’ theatrical act.

Through Child's Play, we shared how our research is helping shape healthier futures for young people through ideas that change lives, from delivering positive movement and exercise in all aspects of school life to more than 30,000 children through Creating Active Schools, and creating a research centre to tackle mental health challenges in young people.
