Based in Bower Ashton, Bristol. When not filmmaking, the team can be found playing deeply competitive table tennis.

BA(Hons) Filmmaking is a production-based course that gives students the practical and intellectual skills essential for a career in today's creative industries. The course is delivered by a dynamic group of Lecturers and Technical Instructors, who engage in a range of practical and theoretical research and have strong links with the Film and Television Industry.

What a lovely way to spend a morning! Helping deliver our Film, Media and Screen Networking Fair 2026! A chance to connect with industry as a course…..but also for our students to network with professionals and companies from the region…. Oh and to eat cake - not just any cake we are talking GBBO cake!!! ❤️Great job - lovely to see our students making the most of this opportunity- thanks all 🙌 - today was a good day!! .crew .film

So good to have attend the NAHEMI-Kodak National Student Commercials Competition awards last Friday with a large group of our wonderful final year UWE Filmmaking students.
Very well done to everyone who entered and huge congratulations to the UWE teams behind our impressive crop of awards;
Aubriel Nababan, Jasmine Mok, Henry Keepin and team, winning best animated commercial for their irreverent Terry Gilliam inspired Jaffa Cake advert, The First Temptation.
Saige Tanna and team for the clever and engaging advert The Miss for The Hygiene Bank charity, winning 3rd in brief.
Sennen Laing, Fin Woods and the whole team for their impressive and hugely successful Jaffa Cake advert ZappaCakes, which won Best in Brief and 2nd place overall.
Special shout out to Georgia Bulkeley and Alice Bennett who won the craft award for best Production Design and Makeup.
Thank you University of Westminster Filmmaking for hosting the event at the beautiful Regent Street Cinema, Peter Hort & NAHEMI National Association for Higher Education in the Moving Image for organising and Eastman Kodak Company for your continued support of this wonderful competition, allowing students the opportunity to shoot on 16mm film and to learn about its enduring aesthetic appeal as well the rigour and professionalism associated with realising moving image work through photochemical and not digital means. ❤️❤️❤️

Double bill at yesterday as we screened 2nd year Narrative and 3rd year Production 2 Short Films 🎥 - and what a day.. we laughed, we cried, we clapped and cheered - celebrating 20 wonderful pieces of work- congratulations to everyone!! ‘The West of England is continuing to build on its ambition to become the most investable creative economy outside London, as regional leaders, industry experts and policymakers came together for the Creative Economy Access to Finance Summit.

Delivered in partnership by the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), the summit - held at the Bristol Beacon - marked another milestone in a sustained programme of collaboration designed to support the growth of creative businesses and strengthen the region’s profile nationally and internationally.

Around 100 representatives from across the creative industries, finance, government and academia attended the event, underlining the commitment of the region’s partnership‑led approach.’

Filmmaking students from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) have won a national award at the inaugural NAHEMI–UK Green Film Network competition, celebrating environmentally focused filmmaking from higher education institutions across the UK.

The third-year student film ‘Save Our Seas’ received The UK Green Film Network Award for Best Environmental Messaging, recognising its powerful and poetic response to the urgent environmental challenges facing the world’s oceans. The award was presented at a Green Gala screening held at The Garden Cinema in Soho, London, attended by filmmakers, educators, and environmental campaigners.
