Filmmaking_UWE BA (Hons) Filmmaking UWE
Based in Bower Ashton, Bristol. When not filmmaking, the team can be found playing deeply competitive table tennis.

BA(Hons) Filmmaking is a production-based course that gives students the practical and intellectual skills essential for a career in today's creative industries. The course is delivered by a dynamic group of Lecturers and Technical Instructors, who engage in a range of practical and theoretical research and have strong links with the Film and Television Industry.

A group of UWE_FILM students have had their film, An Ambulance for Gaza, selected for the main programme of the Aesthetica Film Festival, one of the Europe’s most prestigious film events.
An Ambulance for Gaza offers a powerful and moving account of Bristol resident Sakir Yildirim’s 2009 journey to Gaza, where he delivered an ambulance—bought on eBay and filled with humanitarian aid—to the Palestinian people.
The film weaves together archive material, observational footage, interviews and re-enacted sequences to create a distinctive and compelling documentary.
Huge congratulations go to the entire student team of Parsi Gomez, Harry Richardson, Julia Sherwood, Lili Womack, Hollie Ratcliffe, Amelie Batty and also to the Documentary teaching team on UWE BA Filmmaking.

Who's Who at ?!

Charlie Parkin is a Lecturer in Filmmaking at . A filmmaker, cinematographer, creative producer and composer, he teaches across the BA and MA Filmmaking programmes and brings a passion for storytelling in all its forms. His professional work spans short films, commercial content and music for screen, with all kinds of clients, from the NHS to Comedy Clubs. Before joining UWE, he led Screen Production at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, helping emerging filmmakers develop their craft both behind the camera and in post-production.

We're all very excited to welcome new students to our UWE filmmaking community!
