Bristol Baptist College

Bristol Baptist College Our vision is to grow healthy churches in relationship for God's mission. We help them to live in ways that authentically express this love and understanding.

Our Aim: To share in the mission of God in the world through the formation of able, passionate, spirit-filled and evangelical women and men for different forms of Christian ministry. We seek to accomplish this by enabling our students to be disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, and who love and understand the Scriptures, the Church and the Christian faith. Our students are able to communicate th

eir passion for God within the church and beyond it; they are equipped to oversee and support the discipleship of others; they are team players who are able to offer leadership to churches and to the wider community; and they can participate in and to lead the tasks of mission. They are equipped to do this in churches of any tradition but have a particular love for, sympathy for, affinity with and understanding of the Baptist tradition as it is expressed through the churches, associations and colleges of the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

Book to attend this lecture with Ashley Hibbard, Centre for the Study of Bible and Violence Director of Operations, on 9 May at Tyndale Baptist Church. Ashley lives in Canada so don’t miss out while she’s here.

“Many Christians struggle to know how to navigate the goodness of God in Old Testament texts. Biblical law can sometimes seem to be more of a cause of violence than a part of its solution. Join us for a public lecture and Q&A with Dr. Ashley Hibbard as she shows us the purposes of Leviticus, and discusses the interpretive skills needed to appreciate how this book's focus on holiness, ritual, and order point us toward a God who transforms his people to be agents of his peace and justice in the world.”

Disciple Makers creates time in a busy week for you to explore the Bible in greater depth, spend time listening to God, and receive training to become a disciple who makes disciples. Our course is fresh and adapted annually, led by Ruth Miço. It features professional voice coaching, expert tutors, and visiting speakers. Community with the wider cohort of Ministers-in-Training is developed over lunch and shared retreat days. All in all, a fantastic way to spend your Wednesdays in term time.

All denominations and ages are welcome (18+). This course works well for independent students as well as for interns and leaders.

All are warmly invited to join our Community Day on Wed 6 May at Westbury on Trym Baptist Church

We are delighted to have Peter Lynas of the Evangelical Alliance as our keynote speaker as we consider Revival: Past, Present, and Future. With an excellent line up of speakers and time for communion and worship, it will be a fantastic day of inspiration and rejuvenation.

Traditionally, Community Day has been for former students but this year we are opening the doors to all who are interested, no matter your denomination. Lunch and refreshments are included; please register for catering purposes. And spread the word!

Community weeks provide a chance to go deeper into important and sensitive topics. They're also a great time to build community and strengthen relationships that often last a life time!

Our Bristol and Exeter Ministers-in-Training stayed at Hebron Hall for this community week. Paul, Louisa and Ruth explored Penarth and found the oldest church there; the herringbone masonry from the 12th century can still be seen today. The group visited the Senedd on their last day, and were treated to a rainbow as they crossed the Prince of Wales bridge on their way home.
