RAC Academy Karting Night! 🏎️

With their final block complete before EPA, our apprentices decided there was
only one way to celebrate... a trip to the karting track!

Alongside Apprentice Team Leader Mark Warren and Academy Tutor Ben Potts,
the group enjoyed an evening packed with laughs, close racing and plenty of
overtaking.

🏁 After several competitive heats, the final Grand Prix delivered an exciting finish
with our top three drivers:

🏆 Dylan Barnes
🏆 Mason Clulee
🏆 Asad Mehmood

Congratulations to everyone who took part. It was fantastic to see the team
enjoying themselves after months of hard work and dedication.

Now it's back to business as they prepare for their End-Point Assessments. Best
of luck to the whole group; we're looking forward to seeing you all qualify as RAC

Wrapping up National Apprenticeship Week with a reality check - You can’t automate grease, grit, and intuition.

While the tech world talks about AI taking over, the heavy vehicle industry is proving that some skills are simply irreplaceable. We’ve spent the week celebrating our incredible apprentices, and here’s the truth - A computer can’t "feel" a mechanical fault.

To our current apprentices - You are the backbone of the supply chain. To those looking for a career, if you want a job that a bot can’t do, pick up a wrench.

Here’s to the next generation of masters!

The world is buzzing about AI, but there’s one place it hasn't mastered: the diagnostic grit of a heavy-duty workshop.

While algorithms are great at processing data, they can’t "feel" a vibration in a chassis, "smell" a specific fluid leak, or navigate the complex mechanical nuances of a heavy vehicle that’s seen years of hard labour.

Why a Heavy Vehicle Apprenticeship is AI-proof:

- Tactile Problem Solving: You can't code the intuition required to find a hairline fracture in a subframe.

- Complex Environments: Robots struggle with the grease, tight spaces, and unpredictable nature of field repairs.

- Critical Thinking: AI follows patterns; technicians solve puzzles.

The future of transport isn't just digital—it’s mechanical. Start a career that technology can’t replace.

Mechanical apprenticeships offer something rare in 2026—true, AI-proof job security.

We hear a lot about AI taking over jobs, but let’s be real: A chatbot can’t fix a burst hydraulic pipe, repair complex wire damage from a rodent or recalibrate a physical gearbox in the pouring rain.

Mechanical apprenticeships are built on tactile intelligence. While AI is great at processing data, it lacks the dexterity, sensory feedback, and real-world problem-solving that a skilled technician uses every single day.

Why a Mechanical Apprenticeship is the smart move right now:

- Physical Complexity: Robots struggle with the unpredictable environments of a workshop or site.

- Human Judgment: Knowing why a machine is making that specific "clunking" sound is an art form.

- High Demand: As long as there are machines, we need humans to maintain them.

The future isn't just digital—it's mechanical. Get a trade that a computer can’t download.
