It’s official – we’re the 6th best university in the UK 🎉

The rise from 8th place in last year’s Daily Mail University Guide reflects the strength of our teaching, research and student experience, with Bristol ranked:

🏆 1st for research income
🎓 2nd for first-year completion rates
🔬 4th for research quality
🏅 9th for sport

Many of our subjects scored highly too, with Business and Italian both ranked 1st in the country.

The Guide highlighted our financial support, strong graduate outcomes, popularity among applicants, and exciting future with the opening of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus next month.

As thousands of students receive their results yesterday, we'd like to congratulate everyone who’s secured a place at Bristol. We can't wait to welcome you to our city and community next month!

Happy Balloon Fiesta weekend, Bristol! 🎈

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Bristol University Hot Air Balloon Society (BUHABS) - who are also the only student-run hot air ballooning society in the UK 🏆

We’re incredibly proud of the students who, with support from Bristol SU, keep this much-loved Bristol tradition soaring year after year ❤️

Spend the morning with the University of Bristol Hot Air Ballooning Society (BUHABS) as they take to the skies alongside more than 100 balloons at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 🎈✨

This year marks 40 years of BUHABS, the UK’s only student-run hot air ballooning society. Behind every flight is a team of passionate, dedicated students and skilled volunteers who happily swap a lie-in for the chance to bring the University’s iconic red and white balloon to life.

It was a magical morning, and we’re incredibly proud of the students who help keep this much-loved Bristol tradition soaring year after year.

Did you spot the University of Bristol balloon across the Fiesta weekend?

Bristol SU is home to around 400 sports clubs and societies, so no matter where your interests lie there’s a club for you!
