💡Early Years, spotlight on: Sport

At Clifton College, physical development is at the heart of our EYFS curriculum. We don’t wait to introduce high-quality coaching; we dive straight in from the very beginning!

Our pupils benefit from a dynamic and fun physical development programme that sets us apart. Each week, our Early Years children head out for:

🏃‍➡️Expert-Led PE: Focused sessions with specialist sports teachers to develop agility, balance, and coordination.

🏊Weekly Swimming: Dedicated time in the pool with qualified swim coaches to build water confidence and essential life skills.

By giving our youngest learners access to specialist expertise, we ensure they develop a genuine passion for sport and a head start in their physical development.

Our Upper Commemoration celebrations began yesterday evening with the wonderful Commem Concert and House Dance 🎶🕺

Continuing in the sunshine today, we brought everyone together in Chapel for a morning service, followed by a speech in the marquee from Dr Greene reminiscing fondly of his time at Clifton College, both as a teacher and Head Master.

We also heard three memorable speeches from our Heads of School, what they will take with them from their time at Clifton and where their journeys will take them beyond, with new skills, interests and friendships ✨

After lunch, families enjoyed a varied programme of exhibitions and activities across the Upper School, showcasing the impressive work produced by our pupils throughout the year.

We look forward to the Clifton College Commem Ball tonight to round off another fantastic year of celebrations 🙌🎉

Headmaster of our Prep School, Jim Walton, reflects on another fantastic Triathlon held at Clifton College, for the fifth year running!

Over 1,000 children joined us on Sunday 3rd May for the 2026 Knight Frank - the UK’s biggest sporting fundraiser for ages 7-13 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Teams swam, cycled and ran with amazing determination, raising over £100,000 so far for - part of a national effort involving 12,500 pupils and over £1.7 million in fundraising this year alone!

Another fantastic day of sport, spirit and community for a great cause 🙌

Huge congratulations to our Girls’ Tennis team, who have qualified for the National Finals of the Aberdare U19 Cup 2026 🎾

We are incredibly proud of this team, whose hard work and outstanding performances have placed Clifton College No. 2 in the UK. This ranking gives us automatic entry into the National Finals - a first in the history of Clifton College Girls’ Tennis!

The Finals take place 24–27 June 2026, with the funding accommodation and breakfast for all qualifying teams. A fantastic opportunity for our pupils to compete among the very best in the country 👏

We’ll be cheering on the girls - and hopefully the boys too, who are currently through to the Regional Semi‑Finals - as they represent Clifton on the national stage.

A historic achievement. Well done team!
